I am having issues messaging friends and regular contacts that I talk to everyday
I click on the mail and it takes ages to show the message and people are having the same problem sending me messages that talk to me daily it all started when the mail system changed to show all past mails from the individual contact

When he messages me, when I go to open the message, it gives me total lag, it takes several minutes before I can even view the content. If I click on reply, it takes a further five minutes before the cursor even shows and when I type nothing happens. I tried alternative way of mailing him but as soon as I click on mail from his profile, the same lag happens. The only way to read and reply is to hover the mouse over the subject to allow me to read what he wrote. I then have to click on Compose and type my reply entering his user ID and subject every time.
When I do open his message the message box is soooo wide, there is clearly a problem. I can reply to others fine with no problem with the exception of one other friend.
The other username is Mischievous. With him it's the same as all above but even when I compose a new message, he does not receive anything at all.
Please fix, it's bloody annoying.

Confirming for Chedburn - it seems that there is major lag between users who mail lots on their message history.

Every time i open a mail from my spouse it is taking ages to open. I dont have this problem with any other mails.The mail history between us is huge it takes ages to scroll down the page maybe this is to blame?
I also get a box saying a script is running that is causing internet explorer to run slowly and have to click yes to stop the script before i can get to the mail
Im only getting this on mails from my spouse when it eventually opens, which can take 2 minutes + to open. All other mails from everyone else opens normally in normal time.

I get the same - is it simply because it's loading a huge chat history now as there's no longer the 10 message limit?

My spouse and I are having the same problem. It all started a week or two ago ?? (Not sure of the timeline due to the holidays) but at one point every time we would get mail from each other there was no history there at all so we had to keep going back to messages to address each email individually. Then one day all our message history was back but then it started to time out on both of us. I would click on an email from him and it would take so long that I would actually get logged off torn and my browser window would get closed. Now its hit or miss if I get booted or I get to see the email but it can take up to 5 mins to get it. My spouse is unable to open any of my messages to him, he can only hover the mouse over the message in his inbox and read what pops up as my message. He has no way of contacting me except by sending items with short messages attached. I can email him and I can read his emails but it takes forever.
Anyone know what the problem is and when it will actually get fixed or if it ever will get fixed? Or is this just another new feature of the new torn?

This was fixed previously by removing the previous message logs entirely, it was brought back but the lag was not resolved. It should however be running fine now after a second fix. If it is still happening could you give me the subject of the mail which is lagging?

Taking 2 minutes to open and still getting the script running box appear. I cant check other mails from my spouse as i deleted them all while trying to fix the lag.

Chedburn: I have the problem with the mail loading slowly aswell..
The cause maybe that now the mailbox 'Previous Conversation' is infinite. As now it shows every single previous conversation ever made with that person. Take my friend EmMortal [1615649] for example, If I scroll down, it display's every single message ever sent to each other dating back to 2012-02-14 which is almost 10 months back. Before the 'Previous Conversation' used to be limited to about 10 I think, so you could only the last 10 sent and received messages.
I have some screenshots for you:
This present problem 2.. Which is page stretch..
Take this screenshot for example:
Before if ever in a mail there was any sort of page stretch it will go after 10 messages because of the 'Previous Conversion' thingy being limited. Now.. Because there is no limit the mail that has stretched the page has no where to disappear to so now every time I contact EmMortal via mail the page will always be stretched.

EDIT: Annotated Screenshots & sorry I have stretched this page a little, It was the only way I could explain it.
I guess a fix would be reduce the 'Previous Conversation' message limit back to how it was before or to a number you think is okay instead of having it infinite.

I only have delayed times on people I have lots of chat history with because as previously stated the message history has to load first some of mine goes back as far sept 2011
as it stands at the moment non donator status players can message faster than me
if this is left as it is at some point in the future all players that message each other will hit the same problem

Garton and I exchange mails several times a day, and it has become very tedious waiting for the mail to come in, or to
go out. A few times it has timed out. It doesn't seem to happen to most players that I only talk to once or twice a week.
This seems to have happened after out mail history after our mail history was restored.

It is still taking a long time for mails to load between me and my spouse. When I looked at the history of our emails it is dating all the way back to Sept 19 2011 and since we email constantly it is a huge amount of info to load. I am able to access, read, and email my spouse if I am on a home computer. If I am on my phone it times out and then eventually just logs me out of torn and shuts my browser on my phone. My spouse still can't open any of my emails, can't read any emails from me, can't email me at all. The only thing my spouse can do is hover over the message and read the small portion that comes up. He has had to resort to messaging me via sending items to me as that is the ONLY way he can communicate with me. Any idea if or when this is going to be resolved??

My mailbox isn't slow to load, it doesn't load at all, and times out every time. During the World War, I couldn't respond to any mails at all, except for my spouse. Now, today anyway, my mailbox works for anybody BUT my spouse. Mine hasn't worked properly for about 3 months.

Ok so this is getting totally crazy. I get chat message torgh from loganj who I don't have a clue about. I click on the name to bring up the profile and loganj hasn' been onlone for 5 hous so is offline but in my chatbox showing blue. I ask who this is and get the reply Matt...my friend Mischievous. Somehow there is a total screw up.

I had the same problem a little bit ago with the chat thing, since emailing my spouse seems to no longer be an option for us in this new improved torn, we have been messaging via sending items to each other. I thought about the chat option but was on my cellphone so I logged on with my computer and when I logged on there were two chat messages that popped up on my screen from two people I dont know, have never seen, or spoke to. I closed the chat boxes and then opened one to my spouse and when I typed a message, my words were being displayed but they were coming from one of the people that was in the chat boxes that popped up when i logged in. I closed the box and opened up a new chat box and typed "how about now?" and those words showed up but not from my screen name but some totally random strangers name. I logged off of torn and back on and now it's not doing that but the mailbox situation is still not fixed.
I keep asking but nobody can seem to give me or my spouse an answer, [/b] WILL THIS EVER BE FIXED AND IF SO, WHEN????[b]

This morning I log in and 2 chat boxes appear, one with Company and one with Faction. I neither have job with a Company or belong to a Faction yet I can see a full conversation between Usernames Medicine, GirardPerregaux and _RD_.
It's now a case of not even wanting to bother logging in, it's totally ridicuous. It's what the hell am I gonna find next!!

Still cant email with my spouse, he cant read any of my emails, it takes about 2 mins to open one email from him which was dated back on Christmas, that was the last time he was able to get into his mailbox. It is still showing mail history dating back to Sept of 2011 so there has to be THOUSANDS of emails its trying to load which is why it takes so long for mine to open and why he cant open any at all, and this has been going on now for a week and still no answer, is this ever going to be fixed?

My mailbox has been down for 3 months now, can reply to strangers, but anybody on my friends list is nearly impossible, just times out every single time. To anybody else having the same problem, I seriously doubt it will be fixed, as like I said, it's been like this for me for 3 months or more.

still same problem for me and my spouse, only form of communication is short notes while sending items, once that breaks, no communication with my spouse....I want a refund of the DP's I just purchased...just not worth it anymore

It seems to be working fine now. It was showing all previous messages instead of limiting it to 10 which was slowing the loading down. Is this now resolved?
If not, please give the name and subject of the mail you're trying to open.
