I was trying to mail a graphic hosted on Imgur (an image host that I usually use) and it filtered out the "Imgur dot com" part of the URL to "torncity". Now I know that the filters are in place to prevent advertising for other online game sites (and Torn clones), but filtering out an image host? Was this necessary and intentional? Furthermore, none of the other "Imgur dot com" links on my profile and signature are filtered out, it only happens in mails.
EDIT: So it filters out the URL in forum posts as well, but only as long as it has the ".com" at the end? Why is it so necessary to filter out a certain image hosting website?
These are a few other image hosting sites with the Imgur link at the bottom:
Why aren't the first two filtered out as well?
EDIT 2: Side note, looks like the & (ampersand) symbol isn't parsed correctly in forum thread titles either.
Is there a reason why this specific image host is being filtered? If it's to stop advertisers/spammers, then why isn't every other image host filtered as well if they all have the same functions as Imgur? A lot of people (including me) use Imgur as their primary image host, and even moreso since I make graphics.
Is there another reason why it's filtered that we aren't seeing here?
This site was being used to send phishing links.. hence the filter. I will remove the filter for now but if we encounter more phishing using this site then we will have no option but to keep it filtered in order to try and protect your accounts from further abuse.
