I'm pretty sure not only that's a new bug, but also easy to prove.
Short description: When having proceeded to create Custom Race, Energy/Happy/Nerve bars gets messed up: showing wrong values.
Just create a new custom race, proceed and on the next window where it says I've created a custom race, energy bar shows it's only 5 energy left, also nerve and happy bars show up nearly empty as well. After click on any further link (e.g. Gym) the E/H/N bars starts working as they're supposed to: the energy/happy/nerve values are correct.
Interpretation:
Although this happens every time no matter the browser, browsing device, or TC server I'm on, the results still are uninterpretable.

Old or new sidebar?
I believe you wanted to know whether I'm using new or the old-school layout.
I am aware the old one still exists but have never considered of switching back.
Give me another event-note if any more information is needed.
Furthermore, the changes in bar values might be different:
This time:
•Energy: decreased by 5 to 0
•Happy: decreased by several units
•Nerve: decreased by 2 to 4
After another click the values returned back to normal.
The race will finish in a few minutes. You can create a new one then.

I don't know what has been done/changed but since I noticed this bug is fixed, I've started crashing twice a day (almost every second/third 100 lap race). I used to crash once a month, now the chances has significantly increased.
The issue with wrong values of the E/N/H bars has stopped occurring, however, there's a new issue (that I mentioned above). There's a separate topic for that: Link
