This is a very often problem and it happens in every page (except in index when logged out). With Firefox i get the download popup and with Chrome (Chromium actually) i get a "The server didnt return anything" (or something like that) message. Nobody of the people i know outside Torn is having this error. This happens in both my computers. This doesnt happen at any particular time.
I tried every server (from 1 to 6) and this happens in all of them (5 wont show anything else than a blank screen). And before you suggest it, i wont clear my DNS because this isnt related. But i did clear my cookies and browser cache.
This isnt a lag issue, when the page loads, it loads at the usual speed.
Sorry if this has already been posted, but i cant look in all the threads because it usually takes me 5 minutes to use all my energy and nerve.

Just for giggles, could you clear your DNS? Never know it might work.
Also try restarting your router.

Are you pushing Alt when you're opening the link?

I could also dance on my keyboard to see if it might work, but it wont. Im not sure why you guys always suggest that, but its never the solution to 99% of the problems here.
I restarted router, didnt change much.
No, im not pushing the alt key to open a link. If i was doing that, it would work on Chrome.
Just so you know, im not stupid.

Sorry, did I say you were stupid? No.
Did you flush your DNS?

Surely "Are you pushing Alt when you're opening the link?" is like saying "Are you really that stupid to be pushing the alt key?".
And yes, i flushed my DNS and this still happens.

No actually, if I was saying "Are you really that stupid..." I would have said it. Not everyone knows that pushing Alt whilst clicking a link downloads the page. Don't read in to stuff which isn't there. It's not worth the hassle, okay?
What pages is it not loading on?
Can you give some times as to when it's happening?
Specific examples?

This happens on ANY page, like i said on the first post. This has been happening for the last week, and i have to refresh a page somewhere between 2 and 10 times to get it. I get this error ALL the time, theres no specific time when this happens. Here is a screenshot trying to do the stealth virus one, if it helps.

Then i finally managed to do the crime. Those are images, just that they dont have the extention, so using the [img] BBcode doesnt work. Open the link on any browser.
And before you ask.. no, i dont have any greasemonkey scripts for torn. Yes, this happens with greasemonkey off as well.

This is a bit of a vague issue, so I'll try my best to be detailed.
For a few weeks now, I've been unable to connect to Torn using my computer. When I go to the Torn.com address, the page starts loading, but nothing beyond a white page comes up no matter how long I wait. I've cleared my cache and cookies, and have tried both Firefox and Chrome and gotten the same result. No other websites I use do this, and when I go to the Torn site on any other computer, I don't have any problems connecting. I don't know what could be causing this, so help would be greatly appreciated! |
I have the exact same problem. My main computer refuses to access torn.com, but at the same time loads every other page i have tested.
I have flushed DNS, restarted computer, router, modem, did virus scans, spyware scans.
I can access torn .com perfect from my backup computer connected to the same wireless connection that my main computer uses.

Guys,
You are not the only people to report this (although it is very rare). It seems some peoples ISPs dont want to talk to TORN; there is no obvious reason for this but packets are just lost enroute - often very close to your PC, and far before the TORN providers.
There is sadly almost nothing we can do about this
If somebody wants to do some debugging with me i'll remote control your PC and try to identify the exact problem - but every time i've done this so far we have ended up with packet loss enroute to the TORN servers.
Sorry!

Would this still apply for my case? Im able to get on to TC fine with my back up computer, but not on my main computer (same wireless connection) My main computer accesses every other site ok.
Thank you for your response, and time
I may take you up on the debugging at some point.
Edited to add content.
