We both had 3 of a kind jack's and ace came on river so by default we should share the pot...apparently he won ? How has this happened ?
350m + Is a lot of cash for me so please help.

He won because of higher kicker card - 9 (Because we have 2 and 5 at the table, we need to compare next two combinations: J J J A 8 (yours) and J J J A 9, which will win).

Its a 5 card game in terms of how the results are
JJJ (both of you) A (both of you) then his 9 beats your 8
Had the board shown 10JJ5A (or similar) you woulda SPLIT the cash
