Since my thread in GD was derailed and my thread in Questions was graveyarded I'll give this another go.
Here is the original post:
Ok this is an honest question so please no flaming.
Part of my MO is bounty hunting, attacks etc. In the past couple weeks I've noticed that I'll receive the 'Your target managed to escape' screen when attacking people. It doesn't seem to be tied to the person's level or anything. I may have gotten 2 or 3 of these in my first 18 months of play but now I get a dozen or more a week.
Could this be tied to the (alleged) dex nerf?
Coincidentally, right around the time I started getting these I also began failing banking hacks which I used to succeed about 95% on. I've since retreated to warehouse arsons.
I've tried all the inane suggestions about purging cookies, flushing DNS, switching browsers (IE, FF, Chrome). This occurs from my machine at work (win 7) my home machine (XP) and my netbook, also .
Most recently, I mistakenly hit the 'attack' button when trying to hit the 'mail' button on a person who was in hosp and it generated the same error(actual link above) so clearly my foe isn't 'escaping' if they are already in hosp....something else is in play. In this case, as with the others, it consumed 50E as though I was attacking someone.
