Well based on the polls and up/down ratings on threads about this update I would have to say no. If the majority is against, and they vote it in anyways, then they are not representing the Torn community.

The funniest part about being a players committee is that this cooldown has been up for vote before and was voted down because it would hurt to many things. It's funny to see ched put new people on the committee and staff able to vote so the cooldown update gets pushed through.
I vote the way I think. NOBODY will ever tell me which way to vote! I use my own judgement, and only when I have digested ALL the info and facts do I decide what vote is in the best interests of the game. I know that all other committee members are of a similar stance to me here.
Please stop saying : is in best interest of the game. Who are you and the other players in the comitee to know what is "best interest"? i say your plan for your update is bullshit and it would be in best interest of the game if you all get your brains together and come up with a better plan as this half-baked nonsense.i repeat: BEST INTEREST OF THE GAME is to get this mess sorted and come back when you are ready.
Maybe instead of complaining about Committee, you'll apply to join it? Then you wound vote no on every unfair, malicious, or just personally unliked updates.
Most people in the forums thought you had to wait an hour after taking a morphine before you could take another! The committee had ALL the facts, including how the update fits into any possible future updates. It is here.... full stop. Don't judge an update before you see it, and how it relaes to other ones.

I may be loosing it but i personally haven't seen anyone who thought you can only take 1 morphine an hour :/ let alone most of the forum active community... yes i could understand maybe the younger generation of Torn players miss read the information but not many if anyone iv seen thought this.
It could just be me as i haven't been as active on the forums recently but could you direct me to proof that "most people in the forums thought you had to wait an hour after taking a morphine before you could take another!" or kindly stop talking out your f**king ass..

I'm not a subscriber, but you're.
I have no interest in being a committee member, nor am I complaining...I just voiced my opinion in the form of an answer to the OP.
I noticed Uncle Fester did not have subscriber status and edited my post accordingly, though it is listed as a requirement on the committee application thread.

No the committee does not speak for us. That is a fact. THe implementation of player voting would make things much more player centric.
However they will all club together and defend the "work" they all do.
It would be so simple to have open voting on updates, people don't vote for or against things then they cannot moan

Overeem, Quite a few people have asked me to clarify it! It was a popular misconception when rumours first began to spread, and it led, quite rightly to a lot of negative. Hospital time is part of the game, and is going to stay that way now, and not just a minor delay in game play.
And I never talk out of my butt!!

Open votings means, that people would vote against every update, unless it gives free stuff.
However if you want to express you opinion about further updates, go to Suggestions and discuss about them. The good ones with meaningful propositions and discussion (so they won't be an another half-baked semi-idea) are taken into Committee. Most of updates ideas aren't taken from the air.

No, you go on facebook, copy the ideas others have been putting on suggestions for months and get all the credit.
I think that community voting is the only way to save the "is the committee working" bullshit every time something changes. We all know it's not

I think the Committee is quite good. Although when I was in it, if you disagreed with something just be prepared for Bogie to chew your head of as he is NEVER wrong. It's players vs committee vs a few crazy staff members.
bcfcespley....I hope that was meant in good humor. I read what Fester said ans it sounds like everyone gets their own say. If not and what you say is true....Bogie needs to go. No individual on any committee should have any more power than the one sitting beside. It's yay or nay.
This is my sig. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

I made a thread about FB suggestions contest, which was the fail IMO.
As an ex committee member I am happy to see some of the douchebags gone, and am even happier to see the staff involvement. This is a move in the right direction.

Good to know. I still often wonder why I have been overlooked for the committee. My views on this update will not help any.
OT: Yes I think the committee is doing their job. There was a vote on this a while back. I pay attention.

Apparently you dont kiss the right people............ never mind I guess you can figure it out....
I myself do not know much about how much power the Committee actually have at all.
Lets just say there was a vote to introduce a update and the Committee had to vote on it.
Would there votes actually count and could Ched not just do what he wants anyway?
What ever Ched says goes.
But then again remember the fuss players made about the DP's being non tradeable.
Ched reverted his decision on it.
I always wondered why he did on that one.
He obviously knew player's would not like it and kick up a fuss. So why do something anyway and go back on your decision?
Mass donations? I duno.
To me it seems Ched doesn't really know what he is doing. No offence intended Ched. You have a great game here that i love but what is with all these impulse (Seems impulsive to me) decisions?
This new med update is good and bad. I'm on the fence with it atm anyway. Lets just see how things play out.
But back to the Committee topic. In my opinion i would agree with Evil Duck and say that the Committee are just pawns for users to vent there anger on if he fuks up with the updates anymore.
I am not saying that the Committee are doing a bad job though. The seem to be doing a good job all round anyway.
I would not pick on the Committee as they are just Cheds Head gear when he jumps in the ring.
Concern should drive us into action and not into depression

lol, come and claim them and I'll show you just how easy it is to avoid maxed out medical item cooldown
if they would start listening to the common folk in this game more then we would have a disaster
we would have xp bars and much more crap that people who have been here for longer understand we have no need for
having said that i think they are doing a fine job, they are thinking ahead, not like many people around here who only think of their own benefit and never for the good of the game
for now i support the med cooldown idea but i will see how it will be in a war when we will finally start warring again
but im guessing it wont have too much problems from where im standing

I disagree here.
The committee are supposed to come up with their own ideas and propose them to Admin / coders. They have the final say on if it is or is not able to be coded.
This update in particular was Cheds idea. I know it is because he hinted at it months ago.
That being said, the committee then discussed / debated and fine tuned this in what they perceive as the best interest for the common player.
I do not know many on the committee. I do know for sure that there are at least three that would walk before becoming anyone's bi%ch.
Before you judge someone, walk a mile in their shoes.
I'm not a fan of some of the decisions that are made. Attacking them is not called for.

The Committee is fine, I think they have a good bunch of players there. I just don't think the staff should have input.
double post......very happy to see this guy gone
I had more input and done more for this game then you ever will. I was kicked from Committee as I couldn't attend a meeting due to commitments in real life. Does not make me a bad Committee member at all and your post kinda sums up how justified some of the members actually are, it also just means there is no one in committee to disagree with the other 15 sheep that all follow suit.

abusing glassdoor-trick for getting 50k meds used merit by solaris and chaos_greg and after they are done they pushed meds cooldown update thru the comitee. i think it was for their own benefit and not for the good of the game.
then solaris is stating that hosping has to get meaningful again and two or three post above she is telling that it has no meaning for her to get bountied and hosped.
pathetic.just waiting to place my bounties on her head but others feel the same so i have to wait for my chance.
