You are correct, #Freebies is certainly different. #Freebies plays by the rules, we don't rig lottos, we don't have people who scripted to cheat in lottos as our channel staff, and we don't let people who are in fed win prizes. If that takes the fun out of the channel for you, then needless to say, we are really not interested in providing the type of 'fun' you are after.
Giveaways, discussion, lewd midgets and properly organised games and giveaways are why we are, consistently, the most popular IRC giveaway channel (plus have you seen our giveaway total? Its a few different shades of sexy).
If we let people who are in fed, that are scripters, people who are openly racist or homophobic, and the like in the channel to win prizes - we would have even more people in the channel right now. But we don't, because were not just wanting to be seen as 'fun and playful', we want to be a safe and trusted space for everyone. We are fun where it counts - giving away loads of free stuff and making fun of a certain someones severe case of little man syndrome.
End of the day - posting destructive comments isn't going to change the rad time we are all having in #freebies right now. It says a lot more about you, and that makes me feel a bit sad on your behalf, because with that attitude its only really you thats losing out. Sad that is, only until #freebies distracts me with its highly attractive sparkly rainbow coloured rays of blatant radness.
