I have no idea what The Empire Plan is (can't find anything on google), so can't say if this event was part of a bigger plan with that name

Oh, you're right. It's hard to find. I didn't realize since I stumbled upon it.

Incendiary night raids.

"By mid-May, LeMay was happy to return his attention to the Japanese cities and their industries. He embarked on an “Empire Plan,” which allowed weather conditions to determine if the bombing raids would be precision or area strikes. The B–29s flew precision daylight missions in good weather and night incendiary raids when targets were obscured by clouds. Thus, LeMay retained the relevant portions of U.S. strategic bombing doctrine. "

several civilians were killed during the event

This couldn't possibly be the atomic bomb drop on Hiroshima

In both cities, most of the dead were civilians, although Hiroshima had a sizeable garrison.

That's the single answer that threw me off completely! Looking at the rest of the answers; B-29's, Japan, Air raid etc, they all point to the atomic bombings but the line "several civilians were killed during the event" just didn't add up so we've been looking for some 'minor' incident instead.

To quote wikipedia (not the most reliable of sources but this one is accurate):

...the acute effects killed 90,000–166,000 people in Hiroshima and 60,000–80,000 in Nagasaki, with roughly half of the deaths in each city occurring on the first day

Quite a lot more than 'several civilians'... Hehe!!

This will be an event, but it's a going to be a little obscure.

Did it happen during medieval times? (746 - 1453 - here Im not questioning your knowledge but there are few ideas of the end of medival times )
just btw. I would suggest to use the most simplified english in questions to avoid such situations. Since the company here is international it could help a lot
