As the tunnel entrance drew nearer I could feel my grip tighten reflexively on the wheel. This was the only part of my commute I dreaded. Hated. Even with the convertible top down the claustrophobia would soon begin to seize me like a plunge into a freezing river, snatching the breath from my lungs and tensing every muscle in my body.
On this day, a strikingly gorgeous early summer afternoon with wispy cirrus clouds painting fanciful angels on an infinitely blue canvas, and only for me, the unavoidable tunnel seemed especially cruel.
As I mentally lamented this moment of transition and fought through the panic, wishing nothing more than to stay in my lane and keep moving, a small part of my consciousness pondered the notion that this moment was a metaphor for my entire life, and the culmination of everything I was and am would presently be revealed to me.
Just then, a light ahead ever growing, then an emergence. And there they stood, right before me as always like a beautiful island in an ocean of misery - the Golden Arches and the promise of another Quarter Pounder with cheese and a large order of fries.

The car gets @150 miles put on it every weekday, up and down the mountain. Today, I took it for it's @6 month new brake job.

I watched The Walking Dead during Splash, but I admit that I DVR'd it because Louie Anderson was preparing for a 23 ft. dive.
I also admit that I not only watched him fall over into the water but I continued to watch the rest of the recording.
My daughter was more than disappointed with me. She put on her headphones and worked on an animation.

I'm not sure if it's like watching a train wreck or simply allowing myself to watch fodder for the upcoming The Soup, but I'm not sure if I can look away from horrible televised programs.

Bad TV is almost as fun as good TV. The line seems to be blurring though. My favorite bad show is Finding Bigfoot. It's the most misleading show title since Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher. It's so unbelievably bad it's hard to not watch just to see the next incredibly stupid thing they do or say.
