i mean like FOREVER ! ...
i've got in-game messaging , IRC applet and lots of forums to talk to ppl ... it only make my game slower and I don't need this chat thing ( faction chat cannot be closed ... )
help ?

Chat should be removed entirely, and if people want to use it they should get an IRC client and be done with it. It's a game, not a networking site.
Let's take a look:
When you announced Torn on facebook, the thread got rated -111
When you announced the last chat/stat graph update, it got rated -67.
When you announced this update, it's already crept into the minus ratings.
Surely it's obvious enough people would rather gameplay and other important additions and bug fixes then retarded chat crap. I for one was pretty surprised, in a good way, by the recent JavaScript updates in the crimes, item highlighting and those other similar updates. More of them and more gameplay additions/fixes, and less transformations into Facebook please. -.-
Facebook has over 350,000,000 active users.... The closer we get to them, the better?

Just login via the "Mobile login". One small click to remove the little chat boxes from your screen till your next login. How hard can that be ? You have to make around 10 clicks just to take a xanax/ecstasy and train anyway. Another one won't kill you.
hmm , another BUG , maybe ... after this last update I don't see the login page , i only see a part of it , and i can't login ( From my mobile phone )
it's easy to check ( i'm using Opera Mini 5 Beta 2 ) I'm going to post a bug right now ... does anyone else have this issue ?

yes HELP! I don't need another chat box, i've got everything I need to communicate and I play this game for socializing, so trust me, I know what I mean.
I keep getting messages from my computer that it has to stop running some script in Java. I am so bored with that stupid thing that i simply quit.
Let others, more ambitious, struggle to load every page. It seems immensely absurde to play the game in mobile option, when I don't have a mobile to play on. Just to pretend I'm cool or what?

well, it appears by the people on this forum, that most people hate this new chat option crap that Ched thought was SO FACEBOOK... guess what, IT SUCKS... Remove it, Throw it away just like this game has been going.... Stop trying to be the Coolest Text Based Game and try to be the Best Text Based Game...and Ched, really... I would think you should work the major bugs out of the game first before advertising on FB. Wouldn't that make you look bad?

It would be great just to have a stable gaming environment to play in as a priority, rather than these vast ambitions to reach the entire world.
Stable is exactly what we're aiming for, if anything is unstable, for the love of god, tell us about it so we can fix it.

I just log into Mobile even when im on my computer as then it gets rid of the Chat. As i hate it too.
Ched, Why dont you just add a enable and disable button for the live chat, then the people that like it would keep it and the people that dont like it dont have to have it.

If chat is causing pages to be slow, that is an issue that needs to be fixed. Running TC in an iframe, means chat can't cause any slowness to the site, so i'm unsure of what you're experiencing. Chat is loaded once, at the start, every page load after that, chat is already loaded and does not load again. Please, PLEASE provide more information so we can actually do something about it!!

It doesn't make your game slower. It adds two tiny grey boxes to the bottom right corner of your screen - if you're even in a faction and company. If it's bothering you that much, i suggest you just leave this game, because it isn't for you.

The minimized chat boxes sometimes cut off a portion of the links at the bottom of the screen. For instance right now my Minimized Faction Chat Box is covering up half of the "Search Forums" link. I have seen this on some other pages but don't recall which ones at the moment.

Yes ratings and posts in this thread have been somewhat negative, but what do you expect? People who are enjoying chat and have no reason to post / rate, simply won't. This is exactly why we're keeping chat up for everyone - to gain feedback, so we can fix the problems with people who dislike chat.
Instead of screaming "Remove chat" which is simply selfish considering at least 90% of TC like chat (a game-wide vote will show this soon). Tell us what the problem is, so we can fix it.
Chat is required to be on, on the majoirity of peoples accounts, because this isn't going to work if some people have it off, and some have it on.

Faction chat was fine before, it is now too buggy to use, half of what I type does not post.
Why do we not have the option to disable ALL chat boxes?
Agreed... its not that hard for you guys to add 2 more DISABLE boxes to the chat page.... DO IT! We BEG YOU!
