Weve been hard at work thinking up ways to make faction warring more fun and less of an endless pain for factions who cant defend themselves. We will be slowly adding changes in to see how they go, and carefully viewing the results. We will continue this until we feel the system is perfect. Each change will be announced as usual.

Today weve done the following:

-Factions with under 100 respect will now lose respect much slower. This change makes it not worthwhile for factions to completely kill off others for respect alone, but is certainly still possible if you have something to prove.

-Respect gain multiplier has been changed. Before, it was a simple calculation: Level x value. For example, attacking a level 60 would yield 60 times more respect than a level 1. We have evened this out so that a level 1 for example, yields four times less than a level 70 (instead of 70 times less). This should result in fewer factions purposely inviting low levels in to their faction just to lower their rank without repercussions. This also lowers the need to level hold, users no longer need to feel restricted when wanting to level up. Ranks will still offer protection for lower levels with less stats.

There are many changes we must make to the system to make it enjoyable for everyone, not just the HOF guys, not just the newbies. Were going to find a suitable average that hopefully sits well with everyone.

Thanks.

Definitely better to bring it all in bit by bit rather than a huge change for sure
Sounds good.

Interesting, will see how it goes by trial and error

So attacking different ranks still gets you less respect then the same rank?

Anything going to be done to even this out?

You need to make it so that the respect doesn't go down and factions don't get deleted at 0 respect. Also, you need to make it so that a faction with like 200000 people can't kill a faction with 1 person in it.

Don't like this much. Before, the veteran factions would have not much to gain by attacking newbies. Now, a bunch of lvl 70's can hit a bunch of lvl 1's 17.5 times harder than they used to be (it used to be 1/70th of hitting equals, now it is 1/4th, the difference is a factor 17.5

Especially for the newbies, it will now be even more appealing to stay in peacemode than it used to be.

Maybe I don't understand what you're saying... But how would a bunch of level 70s be the same rank as a bunch of level 1s? And if they were in the same rank, the level 1's would have close to the same stats.

rank system is flawed by inactive lvl 1, maybe changing it to inactive people for 7 days not counted in the rank would resolve it.

Say a rank 4-6+ faction that has level 50+ in it, with level ones as well...

A rank 4 level 60 hits a rank 4 level 1...

Gonna get respect for it now, as opposed to before when you wouldnt get squat.

Thinking about it, how does this: 'result in fewer factions purposely inviting low levels in to their faction just to lower their rank without repercussions' actually work. I think the prospect of ranking down FAR overshadows the ass kicking these factions would receive if they were a higher rank. Just now the low levels they recruit will lose them slightly more respect than they previously did.

The weaker faction now has a load of free targets and can gain respect. Actually attack back for once, instead of sitting there losing their respect. I'm not quite sure I understand what you're saying. Depending on size of each faction, amount of level 1's e.t.c. The faction should be able to keep up with the respect loss / overtake the enemy faction by attacking level 1's.
