This obviously takes time, requires hardware (both of which require donations - so thanks guys that do donate!!) but the target is to have this done by mid week, i.e. Wednesday.

Ched should use some of that £1m real life cash he's made recently
Nope a hacker is someone who writes code, and is normally a good guy.
Ched is correct to call them crackers, as these are the script kiddies and the like who try and crack into computers.
Yes the media gets it wrong lots.
Then again, the media gets lots wrong..
As someone with a degree (MS) in computer sciences, you're wrong.
A cracker, to be technical is someone who attempts to gain illegal entry into a computer system. Hackers stay on the other side of the law.
Hackers are generally broken up into 5 different groups. White hat- People that code / hack for the good of computer / computers everywhere... often code applications / inform vendors of security exploits Grey Hat- People that are in a questionable area of the law, where they are doing something that could be considered illegal, or malicious, but without destructive intent or outcome. Black Hat- Black hat hackers tend to cause the vast majority of the damages related to cybercrime. When a credit card database gets hacked, these are the people that are involved. Script Kiddies- Noobs, Neophytes, etc. These kids usually troll around irc chat rooms bragging about how elite they are to anyone that will listen. Often times after years and years of begging they'll start running 0-day exploits against various servers in hopes of gaining cred with the scene. Unfortunately, most people that are in this group never realize what they're doing and cause a LOT of unintended damages. Neo-Hackers/Hactivists- In more recent years there has been an uprising in the final area... you can't really mix these people in with grey hats without unsettling a lot of people... Essentially a hacktivist is someone who hacks or defaces the website of a group or organization as a means of protesting. This was seen with Anonymous and the Church of Scientology in years past..
With that being said, a dramatic increase of network latency would most likely mean that someone is brute forcing... filter and move on?
If you like something I've done on the forums send me a morphine, I'm running out!

Users with a problem (not others please) can access a temporary URL at http://83.223.121.80:9000/
Posting for a friend...
URL doesn't work, and other fixes also tried give the following errors:
The connection has timed out
The server at www.torncity.com is taking too long to respond.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
Any other ideas?

I was the friend having trouble getting on last night, everything seems to be working fine now. Not sure what that was about, i tried everything you guys listed in this forum just about. Nothing was working for me, so i just went to bed and tried again now; in my morning time.
I could not access the Torn Main Log In Screen.... For 18 hours, I only got a White Blank Screen.... With Unable to Connect to www.Torn.com Server might be too busy or unavailable....
i had a problem today where i would login and i go do crimes it would say im not loged in. it did this many times till i cleared my cookies and it worked fine after that.
idk if that will help much with the connection issue that some are having and what not.
I can honestly admit that I am clueless to all the computer language used in this forum. I am trying to learn my way around. All I know is that I have had a lot of glitches trying to play this game and still can't access certain areas in the game. Can't use my trade function, never can get into the holiday towns when they have that in the city. Waiting for some resolve. I could go on with problems. Thx for those that have been fixed!
