The occasional error page is inevitable in any large site, however the experience over the last few days has been unacceptable and we apologise for any affect this may have had on your enjoyment of Torn!
--Davz |
can you staff prevent annoying things from ever happening?
all you do is just the " apologies after sh*ts have already happened" and that's what you always do...
apologies, apologies, apologies????????? i am fed up with those apologies of yours, to be frank.
ok but thanks.

Yes we do. It's things like this that will set us apart from the rest of the web, having not only friendly but informative error pages, which should not only fit in the rest of the site (those nginx error pages just look out of place, you'd have to admit..) as well as be just generally cool. Since you can edit error pages, why not? Why not make it look nice? Hell, I'd prefer them over "504 - Gateway timeout" which is barely informative, and doesn't let you know what's wrong, what it quite means or what you should do.
Anyway, thanks for the update good luck with it all, and thanks for fixing it

Well, they can't prevent annoying things from happening, so to be honest, they have no real obligation to say sorry. The fact that they do is a good thing! Would you prefer the other option? Where no apologies are given? Where everyone's toes are stepped on and there are no "sorrys"?
The first step to fixing something is to admitting that there's something wrong, and then locating and fixing it. Apologies are not required, but they are nice.

Are you a idiot, the fact that its "already happened" means they fixed it. And also you usually apologize after somethings happened. Its like saying sorry before you punch someone .

I wouldn't think that's quite the problem, as the "nginx" bit makes me think it's to do with Torn, as that's what Torn uses for it's website thingy..
Best thing you can do is clear your cache, as that may be what Chrome's cached the page as. If that still doesn't work, try using a different browser until it does work.

If you lost your internet connection then you wouldn't get the nginx screen, fyi the nginx screen is produced by the torn servers! Staff ought to get together, figure out whats fiction and whats fact before spreading different crap around the game. Believe it or not lots of these new players believe whatever a staffer says!xD
