I also get a crapload of network timeouts. Half the time, upon first opening IE8 to my all my homepages (one being http://www.torn.com/), Torn comes back with a 504 - Gateway didn't respond in time (or something close to that even though my ping to Torn is only 400ms). I've tried FireFox and Chrome to the same effect. No scripts, proxies, or third-party crap running, and other websites load just fine (even flashy websites with video and assloads of data).

Many times the site is simply just slow, so much so that I actually get in trouble for trying to do two things at once. For instance ... opening tabs to jail and city, and then switching back and forth trying to load stocks or points while searching for jail bust candidates. Then I get all sorts of Torn custom error messages about refreshing the markets. We're talking 30 second load times, but I have to just sit there and do one thing at a time. Can't even try to load up a forums post while in stocks or points or you get that message.

Everything here is viewable by the public.

i'm confused. the game rules state that -

Continual Connections
Auto refreshers or similar software is forbidden.

but using greasemonkey to do exactly that is ok??? huh?

Dun.. Dun.. Dun..

I get a lot of timeouts as well, with no scripts. I have to refresh 3-4 times just to login.

i wonder how many multi accounts have been created simply to find out exactly how many clicks per hour are allowed before you get warned by the system....

i was always under the impression that EVERY click in the game had to be done by a human. guess i was wrong.

last i knew you had to click the link yourself..... auto refreshers are illegal...... but from what davz said ... it almost sounds like automated clicking is ok.....

but with them saying greasemonkey is legal..... it gives the impression that all greasemonkey scripts are therefore legal.....

but its not like they can see you autoclicking things anyways..... as long as your not doing it for a week straight..........

Cool..... so can I also now have my brother use my account while I'm at work, so I can maximize my energy and nerve build up? And can I set up multiple accounts and not be fedded?

Does anyone know of any other 'soft allowances' I can exploit, I'm getting a little tired of playing this game by the rules....

so playing craps or roulette (before updates) with gost mouse was illegal but if u did it with grease monkey its not? wat a bulshit. no scripts should be allowed.

just auto fed those who cause the timeouts, for a day

Ok finally I have seen something addressing the issues I am having.

I use firefox no TC addons just noscript which I have torn.com allowed in.

I get the issues repeatedly, It is rediculously annoying when playing poker. The other day I was all in for about 50mil with 4 of a kind and it timed out because of this, I nearly smashed my laptop!

I think it may have something to do with having multiple tabs open and doing more than one thing at a time. I am very busy on TC generally. When at work I connect to a wireless network and the signal varies so pages can take a while to load so I would be loading a few pages at once.

Sometimes this happens when I first try to log on, maybe three pages tried to open when firefox does and all denied due to not being logged on.

Are you allowed to give us more information as to what triggers this security lockout? Now I have an idea, I will take notice what I am doing before I get the timeouts.

I just had a massive spate of errors occur.
When on the homepage there was an error shown at the top of the torn homepage.
then the following text was shown once i had logged in:

Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: open(/tmp/sessions/sess_kic4e80vl45grs66r0h74vq204, O_RDWR) failed: Read-only file system (30) in /torncity/html/city.php on line 2

I tried on my mobile as well as on my pc (using firefox with greasemonkey disabled) and both encountered the same problem. And now suddenly it starts working again. Everytime I clicked something it would log me out and show the above text.
