So your saying there are scripts people are using that auto clicks and it is legal?

Players can train at the gym and do crimes when they are not at their computer?

is a great idea

It is not certain that the videogames affect the children, if no, those of the generation of the PacMan, would ramble by dark places and eating tablets to the rate of electronic sounds.

....However, it has come to our attention that some of these scripts in effect automate clicks. Some of these are clicking so much they set off our protection systems which result in you being unable to access TC for a period of time. This may not be obvious because the the errors are likely to be "Timeouts", rather than a 403 or other error page.........

Davz

isnt that the same as a BOT .....automate clicks.....if it is.....it should be illegal...that would give advantage to the players that use them....and probably lag the game servers too....

We have nothing against these (unless they aid cheating, of course) and have never done anything to deliberately stop them working.

scripts like greasemonkey do not necessarily allow you to train while your away which as far as I know is classed as cheating. They can help you out in other ways, and can auto click to save you several mouse clicks to do a task you repeatedly do.

Now can we stop going on about this and post your experiences of these timeout errors so those of us who are getting them without scripts running can figure what it is that we are doing or running that is causing them.

Can the staff also relay that these are a serious reduction in service level for the people that are getting them, and for poker players can cost large amounts of cash. Please make fixing this a high priority

well I collect bounties and buy 15 items per trip when I fly.I fly alot and collect some bounties. So thats alot of clicking and crap.So If I am on a bounty roll or something I can have more game timeouts????

It happens to me alot where the network times out and I dont know much about auto refresh or scripts so I know I am not using them.I know because I checked and I dont have the add on or I dont even use greasemonkey.

This started more and more when you added a new country and I was out for 16-18 hrs not being able to log on.I have found also if you clear cookies and history helps with the timeouts.I had to start this when the new country was put in place.

It's the Greasemonkey SuperPack script, made by Profile for ID: 500343
It has the option to reload the page after a chosen time.
You can set the reload time to 1 single second.
It comes with a 'fed warning', but some players ignore that, apperantly.

i wonder why staff haven't even bothered to come into this thread to clear up the official position on what appears to be blatant rule breaking?

a - it doesn't allow you to refresh anything that matters
b - anyone can download any refresher in like 5 secs that does the same thing. there's no point.

you'd think the official position would be pretty clear, since staff posted this thread in the first place

Well I may as well add my gripe.

Basically, I don't use add-ons of any kind, nor do i use 3rd party toolbars. I play TC with a clean PC. By this I mean recently re-installed from a newly partitioned drive.

I constantly monitor my internet connection and it's in tip top shape. My logs show I haven't lost connection in quite some time.

I have no problems accessing the internet (even during TC time-outs).

I only ever use ONE window to play TC poker. I never click in the City during play so as to avoid a possible time-out. I also don't race as that can time you out. I also avoid excessive clicking during play. I normally wait until it's just about my go and click refresh, once, maybe twice.

I time out every 15 minutes or so playing poker and have lost millions upon millions because of this. If the pot amount is low I can sometimes play for 30 or 40 minutes. If the pot amount is high I guarantee I will be timed-out within 15 minutes and servers will not allow me to reconnect for at least 10 minutes.

10 bloody minutes!!!!

Poker and racing have serious time-out flaws. Can you please remit?? Or as mentioned previously, could you please at least explain what is going wrong?

My problems are not on a small scale, this has been going on daily for months.

We know that some of you guys use various scripts, including 'Greasemonkey' scripts in Firefox, to do various things to improve your TC experience. We have nothing against these (unless they aid cheating, of course) and have never done anything to deliberately stop them working.

However, it has come to our attention that some of these scripts in effect automate clicks. Some of these are clicking so much they set off our protection systems which result in you being unable to access TC for a period of time. This may not be obvious because the the errors are likely to be "Timeouts", rather than a 403 or other error page.

Please, if you have any problems accessing TC, turn off these scripts, wait a few minutes, restart your browser and try again. If this solves the problem then please contact the script author and get them to "tune down" the automated clicking...

Any questions please post here.

Cheers,

Davz

So damn irritating. Every time i start firefox i have to go to Myspace before i come here cause it ALWAYS fails to load after the first time (i have TC set as homepage ) but hey who doesn't?
