lol, this scoring of forums is the stupidest thing ever! All its gonna do is make more work for staff cause every idiot on TC is gonna post in every thread possible to get their score up. Nice job ched,lol. Definate thunbs down in my eyes.

No matter what ched does he can't satisfy everyone. One time you'll like what he does another time you won't. Give all your bitching a rest and see what happens over the next few days and see if things are as bad as they are.
I will agree with a lot of people though that the change to the stock market really does suck in regards for people having to wait and wait and wait..........until their stock sells. Sure that makes it more realistic, but who the hell ever said that tc was ever realistic??
One good thing I do like is the option to buy back your merits if you invested them in bank interest. not sure if I'll go with it or not, but I'll see.

i dont like the new bank interest rates or the idea of you regulating bank interest rates daily. i was here for the big game crash years ago and the removal of dogs. i lost alot both times and once again i will lose more thanks to you. ive got as much faith and trust in a rattlesnake.

Now that there is an option to return merits invested in interest rates this is a fair update. I think the cap should remain in place, or at least 40% tax introduced on interest earned above a certain threshold. That will mean everyone still has some incentive to invest, yet keep things fair for both rich and poor players.
The only real way to control inflation is to control the net flow of cash into the game. Currently it seems there is no link between outgoing cash (what players spend on items, pay to loan sharks, etc) and incoming cash (gains from crimes, jobs / company customers, stock, bank interest etc.). One should balance the other. Banks shouldn't be able to create money out of nowhere - the amount they have to give in interest should be linked to the amount a bank could theoretically generate from loans, stock investments etc. So it is right that interest rates should fluctuate acording to how players feed back into the economy.
Inflation will be under control when:
total game income = total game spending + a controlled growth rate as new players join the game.

Just realised you can only rate threads as a whole - you need to make it so we can rate eac individual message / reply else the whole system will be a disaster! A thread can contain a mix of good and bad replies...
Also, if you dont allow rating of individual messages then people can abuse the whole system by making inane comments on every thread, and gaining points for it without anyone thumbing them down since they arent the thread creator. To stop that the scores for just posting should be capped each day, and the main source of rating should be from the number of thumbs up/down you get on individual messages, not from how much people spam.
