We are currently discussing removal of the bank cap, we feel it may be wise to leave it in place and reduce interest rates by 25%-50%. Rates which will fluctuate to keep money worth as much as it is to prevent large scale inflation and to get everything back to normal.
Be warned, tomorrow the bank interest rates will be changed to a much lower, fluctuating rate which will raise / fall slowly each day. Current investments will not be effected. Bank cap will be removed, so you’ll be free to invest however much you like.
This is another change in a bid to cease inflation, and not the last.

you are still an idiot. banking did not cause the ridiculous inflation. people in the stock market did. i've been playing for 4 years and only barely broke the 1 bil mark in money - yeah my banking really hurt the economy huh?
oh and thats including not using drugs for a full year just to save money.

Ouch. That turns my longterm planning upside down and sure lowers the value of the 28 merits I spent on banking.
Banking is way different than stocks and point market because people were abusing the system in stocks and points. In banking there's only one way to use the system, and that's exactly as it was set up to be used and exactly the way people relied on it to continue as they spent merits on it.

why not lower money gained from crimes also? how about cut all the sell rates back to the game in half? how about not selling ammo back to the game at all? how about lets raise property taxes 100%? why not just do a total income tax right now on everyone in the game and take 30% of what they have?
i can come up with lots of ways to screw the average player. maybe i should apply to staff

My banking did, I have billions, all for free. You did it wrong.
I benefited with MILLIONS a day, rendering the few k the new players are making off crimes WORTHLESS.
And the stock market did too, what's your point? That they fixed BOTH of them??

theres no other wya to stop all this new money from coming into tc... you could make all the cahs sinks in the world.. but people will still choose not to put there cash onto them... easiest way to stop all the cash is to not introduce it into the game... simple as that .....

Once points were fixed, what really is/was inflation affecting besides collectibles and enhancers which would be out of reach for most people anyway?
All the essentials (weapons, armor, property, points) were at fixed prices. And while drug prices weren't fixed, they were available through the system and also not really subject to inflation. So if someone with more money than a bailed out banking exec wants to spend $120 million for a stat enhancer or $250 million for a staff collectible, more power to em.
I don't see the reason why this change was necessary.

should not have bank interest rates at all. most games let you put it in the bank with no interest. I don't see why interest is necessary because it just benefit those who are here longest without doing much work.
make interest zero and refund the merits for bank interest thingy.
