ched, all sounds interesting and pretty well thought out, but can you shed some light on the stockholder benifits, will this be left unchanged? or will you alow players to purchase stock in "chunks" to achieve the payout threshold?

Great update. Would be nice if you made new rules protecting the investors from getting scammed, or at least when the Investor goes to fed, the investees get their money back....
There already is... it's called don't give your money to other people.
There's a major gap between "realism" and to quote, "allow [staff] more control of the stock market".
It is starting to seem as if something is constantly being completely revamped when it could have been coded properly (and I use that term loosely, of course) if it was researched more thoroughly. Why not take the extra month and gather 100-250 non-staff players from a tiered field (based on gaming experience) to simulate each idea before introducing it to the game?
Also, will this new stock market include (and some suggestions if so):
-Public vs Private shares of a stock or company? (Using player-run companies as less of a gamble or as a long term alternative investment to the bank)
-Foreign markets? (Similar goods/benefits for cheaper or more expensive depending on availability and market trend)
-Will we be able to backtest a trading strategy for more confidence?
We understand you want to take money out of the game or at least stop the massive influx of new money into the economy, but if it's going to be as "real" and "fun" as you say it's going to be, shouldn't it be a little more full-fledged?
But then again, this is a game - far, far from reality. And you are the Mayor, sir.
For example: if you sell 1,000 shares, and someone wants to buy 200 shares, you will be left with 800 shares and be given money for the 200 shares. Your 800 shares will remain for sale until someone wishes to purchase them.
if we have a 1,000 shares, but someone only wants to buy 200 shares, do we have the option not to sell them? what if we don't want to sell our stock little by little, what if we don't mind waiting a few days for soemone to but more then just a few.
so can we set a minimum amount they must buy from us? so if we have a 1,000 shares, someone can't just come up and buy 10 shares.
over all, it's a good idea. TC is making it's firsts steps towrds having a real economy. i just fear, this could mess things up a bit, because this game wasn't designed for this level of "networking." but we'll see where it goes.
Firstly it is different to that proposal Dunk ... secondly, chedburn has already explained the reasons that particularpoll was discounted, not to mention there was also a second proposal... this has a combination of a lot of different users ideas put forth into it in such a way as to be more benifit to the longevity of tc... not the individuals bank balance.
well, are the NPC going to ALWAYS have enough to sell to someone, if they wish to try and get the shearholders benefits. some are 2,3,5 billion dollars. i'm sure we can't always get that from a random user.
