It is not the compromise Sweeney.. this just resolves other people's complaint about hearing music players on other people's profiles. I'm only discussing this cause it limits a person's ability if they are music oriented to truly express themselves.. A compromise can be just as effective if someone actually applied themselves to start thinking about how can they fix it so that both parties will be happy with the outcome vs, "well let's just tell them no autoplay." Music is not the only thing that slows down a person's browser.. so what will be next. Soon there will just be nuthin on a person's profile. Maybe that's what everyone really wants..

One group doesn't want to listen to random music...
To keep music, but to insist on a play button keeps both people happy. That is what a compromise is...
Or do you have a different idea of what compromise means that the rest of the english speaking world don't?

Are both parties happy with the outcome Sweeney? If the answer is no which it is, then that is not a compromise.

It is a compromise as you still have your music to "express yourself", but I don't have to listen to it...
To remove music players completely would be a win for one side.
To leave them as they are would be a win for the other side.
Both sides take a half loss/win and compromise...

LadyMel, can you give us one good reason why autoplay should be allowed?
As for a possible coding solution, I do not think that is possible. There are a number of music player different sites and they presumably all work in different ways. I don't see how TC's coders could code anything to interfere with the flash to force autoplay off.

All I am going to say is what everyone else has been saying about removing it, and if that was not reason enough for u, then unfortunately, we do not see eye to eye on the issue.
For Sweeney - I'm not, once again, a braniac when it comes to codes or what not.. but, I still think there is a logical way to create some kind of happiness between the 2 parties.. A mute button for instance in regards to the game can be a useful feature in preferences.. U can innitially mute out music on the game itself without it affecting ur iTunes or what not. Lots of different sites have it. Or even have the icon on the
"home page" section so u can change it at will.. Or just change the way profiles are structured by giving a drop down menu for sigs.. Once again, I don't claim to be some great programmer or anything.. I just know that it may be something worth looking into. Then no one would have to worry about loading a person's profile if the only information ur seeing is above the profile sig unless u want to see the rest of the profile.. then ur entering the page knowing that u may here sounds.. These are just ideas.. Once again, cause I got a response from someone regarding coding, I do not claim to be some great computer wiz.. I don't have a clue about that. I'm just saying as an idea of compromise..

All users, please remove your auto-playing music / sounds / games in your profiles. (Anything that creates a sound when viewing a profile).
Things which can create sound may still be placed on profile as long as the sound is not automatically played when one visits your profile.
This is a one week warning. After this time is up, staff will manually remove your profile if you continue using autoplay sounds.

War.. there is nothing else left to say.. People have expressed why they wanted it there. By you taking the ignorant route and highlighting the first thing I mentioned in my comment only leads me to believe that you don't want to see any other reason other than your own.
