well the high leveled rich guys are happy now right?

changes like this make the game a lot harder for the newcomers.

and i still wasted 20 points to acces the stockmarket today and all went good and now this?
it should be a good thing to send all low levels (who cant do anything on the stockmarket anymore) there points back.

you can thank ched for that....

and I would like to point out that ALOT of the big investors help new players with everything from free rent on good houses, to drugs, weapons and advice on the best way to do things

way to go at ruining their funding...well done

The new players can earn it themselves, like all the other respectable players did.

Just like many others, I started out without any help from anyone, and I made it out just fine. Besides, according to the veteran players, the new players already have it too easy.

6 hours is too friggin long..i think it should go down to 2 hours max..or have the stockmarket back at changing once per hour..or was it half hour..meh interesting benefits though..

Please exit your house, and pick from one of the following.
a) Call your friend and meet up with them
b) Since it is a lovely day outside, go for a walk

I hope this solves your issue.

Thank you.

Dang Ched... you are right. It IS a lovely day outside!I reckon you are a legend really... I have been investing my nice lil $20m fortune in the markets recently, as of about a week ago. THIS makes it much more fun and risky!
Might be off for a walk now, while I wait 6 hours to reap my profits/losses

btw. I like your new sarcastic reply tone... given me many chuckles in this thread alone

International School TC - All educational courses are free. ($25million investment)

Holy hell! So now i dont have to save 50 mill for my dual course!

Rocks

Me likes that one too!
Does it apply to the dual course though?

The 2nd part to this update is interesting indeed. Will have to wait and see if and/or how much stocks drop over time now. Some of the specials could be worth it.

Whiuch made it impossible for the non-rich to do things like rent out good properties at decent rates to newer players.

A big part of the game is getting your feet wet and actually trying to advance from a shack to a trailer, to an upgraded trailer to an apartment, to upgrading your apartment, to a beach house, to putting in superior furnishings for your beach house...

Or at least it WAS a big part of the game. Some rich dude comes along and says "hey! You dont need to be slumming it in a beach house! Let me hook you up with a 1k mansion and send any money you want to invest to me, and I will get you better return on your investment than a fully upgraded bank.

Half the game was stripped from those players because of this desire to help them.

You cannot achieve more than one benefit in any one special. Increasing the amount you invest for dividends, will not increase the dividend payouts.

why cannot you receive more than 1 benefit? if you have meet the minimum requirement then you have all the right to entitle the benefits. this line just make it seem that you want all our money to tie down with one and make it a lot riskier... SEEMS LIKE YOU DON'T WANT US DIVERSIFY our portfolio at all! DOES it make it more REALISTIC???

really... how much thought did you put into this update before rolling it out and making it effective immediately?

The stocks will require you to invest the money for 20-60 days before you earn the benefit. These are to try and get more people in to the stock market, and have more fun playing with money. As long as you invest the initial amount (or over) at the start, you will receive the benefit.

You cannot achieve more than one benefit in any one special. Increasing the amount you invest for dividends, will not increase the dividend payouts.

Stocks with 'Random Dividends' will give you random large amounts of money every now and then.

For more information on the benefits, view the stock profile, or you will receive a detailed letter when you achieve the benefit.

We have also added a 1% charge to all funds, if withdrawn before 6 hours have passed. This is to stop people ‚abusing‚ the stocks by jumping from one to the other every 15 minutes. It should also increase the amount of time people invest for, you should be invested for the down, as well as the up. If a stock goes down, it will always come back up again.

Thanks!

Ched if your really going to do this...
A. Add another Chart to each stock showing its monthly progress
B. at the time bought to a person stock portfolio you give use a 6 hour waiting period but no way of seeing if we are clear of that period.

Come on Ched think a little bit more next time.

lets face it... when rich gets richer much faster than noob gets richer... and start creating 2 extremes and leave little at the middle ground... do you really think when the players from the lower end see the rate difference and lose the hope of ever catching up with you that they will be playing?

Does that not simply mean you cant get TWO benefits, from one stock??

Like if the investment for extra divs id 50 mill, investing 100 mill does not get you double.........

Does not stop you investing in another stock for the gains...

Edited by: Chedburn on 17/09/08 at 1:32:33 AM

Edit for not typing lol.

I'm sure that means if you invested 50 mill for div increase, that investing 100 mill will not give you double div increase.............

Therefore free to diversify stocks, and gain that benefit also??

ched i like the update but you forgot to anounce another one. when you sell bullets, you only get half back now. this is bull not only because poorer players bank there, but because if you want to sell a gun you ust sell the ammo. or lets say you buy bullets and realize you dont need as many and then need the cash. i noticed how you announce this update that will probobly be popular but not the one that most people, if not all, wont like.

i don't think it's thats bad, but i do think that you are missing an opportunity to take more money out circulation at least for awhile. people with multiple billions of dollars will just spend their money driving up prices if they don't have anywhere to put it. why not let them get multiple benefits from multiple stocks?

unless Pluto (3 posts above me) is correct and you actually can get multiple benefits from multiple companies. in that case - my bad

Say you invest the minimum amount, but the stock drops over time. Do you then lose the shareholder benefit?

For example: 25M invested in International School TC, but the stock drops, and the total value goes to 24M after 1 week, or even 1 month. Are you sh*t out of luck, or does your initial investment of 25M hold it?

Edit:
By Chedburn [1]
As long as you invest the initial amount (or over) at the start, you will receive the benefit.

I take that to mean we would be OK in my example above, and would still receive the benefit even if a drastic drop.

Yes, I think TC is big enough to support rich, middle class, and newbs.

Helping only those new players that are lucky enough to run into one of those top guys that are willing to adopt a noob accomplishes what? We get....

Super Newb!!!!:o

Then Super Newb terrorizes who he/she can because they are blessed with a backer who thinks nothing of renting out fully upgraded mansions for nothing. And just who is it that is being terrorized? The guy that joined the game and is having fun trying to mug the loan shark for a couple hundred bucks so he can buy an upgrade to a detached house that he worked incredibly hard for, and had fun doing it.

But what he didnt count on was Super Newb who didnt work at all for what he has.

Great way to get rid of new players, eh?
