I think stat cap affects it too. In the company i'm in, every single person that is above the stat cap has 1 star, while those that aren't have more stars for effectiveness.
well thankfully i have the best group of employees in my company. when i saw the change i shifted a few of them around to different positions and now i am getting on an average of 3 stars per employee. with the exception of 1.
so its more than activeness right now that affects their efficiency their darn house is a big thing as well. i have some one with wonderful stats that i hope to someday get my self but is only 2 starts. so i did my research and the only thing he was faulty in was his home.
no he does not do tc drugs so its definitely the home aspect.
hope any input i have added helps the next person. as the input above has helped me
I think there is something wrong with the display of the stars though. When I look at the main Job page, I'm 4 stars, but if I go to the manage employees page, I'm 5 stars there. (As are the first 9 people on that list, the others are 1 star, nothing in between.)
edit: Ah, nm... I see that on the first page, that is to be the company effectiveness. Could we have the title put back there, please?
I am sorry if someone has already mentioned it and I am going to repeat it, but can there be a feature added that directors know before hiring someone how effective is that person going to be ?
Let's say I have a person with 2 stars in my company (Player A) and I would like to exchange him for someone more effective. I fire him and I hire someone else (Player B) and it turns out that Player B has only 1 star. When I try to hire back Player A he already works for someone else and I am stuck with a less effective employee.
It would be great if we could see the effectiveness before hiring someone
tht is mi9nt i suggested somthing v similar to this in a mil i send about 3 admins...... yet thy probs came up with it thm selves as thy probs just delete all mails thy get off normal players
The star ratings of my employees changed dramatically in the last hour. Now instead of mostly 1 star they're mostly 3 stars. Wierd. Why bother updating effectiveness during the day if it only counts at the end of the day?

And when you're at it, could we please make it so we can see if we will win if we attack someone ... oh oh oh! And could we make it so we can see if we will succeed in a crime before we do it, so we don't have to go to jail/hosp and lose xp!? Oh! And could we ...

Also makes one wonder about all the employees that just got fired from various companies based on their star rating. I saw people in my company go from 1 to 3 stars in the past hour, and one that was 5 go down to 3.
I have one star and the following stats:
Man: 31,663 End: 46,720 Int: 67,704
And this is some of our five star employees:
Man: 19,443 End: 15,126 Int: 24,743
Man: 15,914 End: 20,376 Int: 17,978
Man: 23,336 End: 23,924 Int: 14,099
Man: 14,553 End: 12,349 Int: 19,719
We are all filling out the same job position, we are active players, we are donators - only thing is that I dont know who is on drugs and who isn't.
I am using drugs as much as I can - but can that really make me such a bad employee compared to other things that inflicts the effectiveness rating (I assume 5 stars is best).
As you may or may not have heard, a directors guild is being set up to help organize and deal with issues and problems that face player run companies in TC. We would love to have your thoughts and participation in our movement to fix problems that have plagued directors for so long.
A thread has been set up on the forums to discuss the guild and its operations. You can find it here:
I encourage you to take part in the Guild. Better profits and a better work force are just around the corner… if we work together.
Our 1st order of business is this:
Below is a petition to the TC staff outlining our dissatisfaction with the current company system. Please review this document and get back to me with any suggestions. Check my grammar and spelling please LOL.
When we finalize the petition I will post it on the forums for other directors to sign, and send a message to the other directors in the game.
After that I will send a message to the staff informing them of the petition and our request to have them review it.
If any one would like to help me mail out copies to directors please let me know. Its going to be a big job.
Thanks

Dear Torncity staff,
It has come to our attention that a serious problem is facing a large section of the Torncity population. This issue is both lowering the economic aspects of the game as well as effecting player satisfaction. We speak of the flaws in the player run company section of the game.
First, let us say that the addition of player run companies in Torncity was a great idea. The option to own and run a company not only made the game more realistic, but also gave players the chance to interact with each other in a new and exciting way.
However, in the past few weeks, many of us have been compiling data that is both shocking and disheartening.
In our examination of the Torncity player run businesses we have found an extremely large number of companies that we feel should be closed and deleted by the staff. The vast majority of these companies in question fall under the “small” category, however these issues are systemic throughout the entire company spectrum.
The companies we are referring to fail to serve their intended function, that is to contribute to the Torncity economy, or are allowed to operate under conditions that in the real world would never allow them to survive.
We have identified three criteria for these companies.
1. A company is owned and operated by a player that is no longer active in the game. If this company existed in the real world, the lack of leadership would soon have the business falling in to a state of chaos and bankruptcy.
2. A company is owned by a player that has been placed in Federal Jail. A director in this category has broken the basic rules of Torncity. We feel that they should no longer benefit from the ownership of a company. In the real world, if a company owner were to be convicted of a federal crime, the government as part of their repayment to society would seize their property and assets.
3. A company is owned by an active player but has had no daily income for an extended period of time. It is common knowledge that many players buy a small company to use as a personal bank. These companies often have few employees or none at all and contribute nothing to Torncity’s economy. While many players may be angered by the removal of this option, we assume that using a company merely as a place to hold large amount of cash was never the original intention of the staff.
Companies that fall under this category not only do not contribute to TC but also hinder the growth and profit of companies with active, honest directors by lowering their popularity and thus making the ad campaigns useless.
One only needs to examine the fireworks stand company sheet, http://www.torncity.com/joblist.php?step=corp&ID=19, to see the result of letting these issues go unchecked. If more specific data is needed consider this:
Under the Nightclub category, as of two weeks ago, 41% of all nightclub directors are either inactive over 30 days or have been Fedded. This only gets worse as you examine the smaller companies.
As active directors, dedicated to our workers and the overall quality of the game, we ask that the Torncity staff take immediate steps to correct these issues. Many of us are donators that have watched our investments go down the drain due to delinquent companies.
We ask that the following steps be taken:
1. Remove the companies that fall under the categories above thus making it easer for active players to contribute to Torncity through the payment of wages and community building.
2. Formulate a system so that these issues no longer affect the player run company section again.
Thank you for your time and for a great game. We assure you that our intended purpose in presenting this petition to you is only to better a game that we enjoy very much. We appreciate your hard work and dedication and would be willing to assist you in anyway to improve the functionality and overall game play of Torncity.
Would also be cool if you would update them to where we could have an assistant manager that also can control certain aspects of the company. Like hiring and firing along with employee management and company funds and what not. Me and my wife take truns running one and it would be great if we did not have to switch off. Just a .
Also a race track just for those who have never won!...lol
