No it is supposed to entertain players who are in jail or the hospital... It is really handy to me. I can say that I have read every last word on the new updated newspaper... I have sent 2 entries to try to win because i love writing!!!! Many people say i am good at writing stories and poems so i am giving it a shot... i hope Clansy likes them!

Discussing game decisions is not his prerogative, and having to explain every decision to players will not help the game, but just bring about more issues. |
Actually it is professional to address issues that many patrons are upset with. A good leader always recognizes distress and addresses it, a leader with nothing but his own interests in mind keeps to himself. There is nothing proffessional about ignoring the outcry of your people,,, even if it is just a game.

Why does it have to be all Rolepay. They already have their own forum for that.
Something slightly more interesting than bad fiction. I'm sure there's intelligent people out there who stay quiet, who have a formidable game knowledge enough to be able to objectively report objectively on updates, gameplay and other issues.
Without taking any sides to be able to comment on staff and players alike.
As thats what a Newspaper is meant to be, a report of concering issues, popular interests and social commentary. |
you didn't fully read clansdancer's post - her definition of roleplay is that we pretend that we're actually reporters in an actual city of Torn, actually reporting on real events. that's roleplay. it isn't cheap and bad fiction. obviously you'd be writing about things concerning Torncity

It's a news article, you should NEVER EVER write about yourself nor should you talk about yourself if you can help it, meaning, I, you, me, etc.
Also, don't write about things you're involved in as well if you can help that...you should be unbias on all subjects even if you do end up writing about something you're involved in.

you only write about yourself in an autobiographical peice, in which case you must be unbiased, or much more common in a peice of opinion that allowed bias, you can use words such as you, me etc in an editorial, which is a newpaper article that allows bias and opinion, under the pretence that the reader understands the peice is an opinion.
These peices are usually done by guest writers...

what does it matter. Only staff and there close friends get picked. Just like the staff apps. They had there select few chosen. This little send in your story crap is just to make it look legit.
