I agree most of TC is in accessible and does not follow the rules. And I did even say in another post that the validation is flawed anyway, as it needs alt tags but can't as it would ruin the reasons for having a validation system. I have problems with that method too, not blind but my head tells me its impossible to do right.
Also I will note that CSS or HTML validation does not really work on php code. Run the w3c on most sites using php and they have a similar problem.
I tried added the headers once in a seperate php file called header.php, seemed logical to do so if I was using the same header right? But the html validator kept telling me I had not doctype and header meta's yet they did have them, but for some reason or other the validator did not see them.
In conclusion, its difficult to be 100% accessible, if it was easy people would not get paid the sums they do. If TC is at least starting to think about this its a start. Hopefully they will continue.
Maybe the TC dev team should consider an accessibility statement for the game. That way they can outline their policy towards this issue and at the same time admit to the problems they currently have. Many sites do this, also a read of the w3c sites info on accessibility would be a good place to start "A" compliance is not that difficult to achieve.
I read the last page of this, and the majority of you are dumbasses. If you paid attention, you would notice every now and then a blind player making a suggestion about a heard validation system (like the one implemented) as the old one was a guess and hope you get it right.
For those that would rather verbally attack Ched, and make themselves look like retards, there are programs that read out each link on the page, helping blind people to play tc. The problem with the validation code had been that those programs were unable to read out the numbers etc (I dont know how it worked specifically).
Great update Ched! I can praise it even though it has no effect on me!
Revenge is a meal best served cold
Mess with the best, and die like the rest
Well I've definitely seen alot dumber ideas...Like brail on the keypad for a drive thru ATM...WTF would a blind person be driving around for anyway??
BANG! You watch WaSp fall down holding the foot he just shot a hole in. You remove the $20,000,000 from the table and kick WaSp in the nuts for good measure.
ok so if someone is blind enough not to be able to see the validator then how can they see the link that says "[hear number]"
maybe that needs to be made bigger aswell?
No matter how you be livin, this is the life you've been given
You gotta hustle for yours until your pockets get fat
You gotta know where you're from, you gotta love where you're at
people obviously aren't reading the replies, just posting their "opinion" (biased, and uneducated of course). I'm not saying I am extremely educated on this matter, but at least I have the decency to not flame blind people that play this game, and read the replies so I know blind people do so - and how they do so which is interesting!. And why should they not? Glad TC is helping an audience even I didn't know tc had
