The log move has now been completed, longer than expected. Merging of the small amounts of old log data stored previously on the server took longer than expected but we're back and everything went fine.
There will be a few errors about, temporarily closing some pages. If you notice any pages which are closed with strange error text, or pages which remain open but also have strange error text; please report it using the bug reporter. Please check that someone hasnāt already posted that bug.
Sorry for any inconvenience the extra downtime may have caused.
Personally, I haven't been having lag problems in recent months, so I don't know what this was all for... Just fixin' somethin' what ain't broke
Anyhoo, now that it's "fixed" I can't seem to access arson of town hall (I successfully committed the crime about 5 times, but the page cuts off at the end of the green text and my nerve/money remain unaffected)
I am pretty sure this is just due to the recent updates + mobs of people logging on thee modified servers & whatnot, will probably go away.
On a side note, and not entirely related in subject (the real reason I posted so quickly), I do believe it is LONG past time to have a serious conversation about the "yes-men" who always end up getting the first two pages of posts with nothing more than a "way to go!"
The spam "First post" people were outlawed some time ago, for the reason that they don't ADD anything to a subject... Ifind that in many instances thses "yes-men" are just the same, if not, in fact worse. I truly believe that many of them post before reading at all, or at least before checking the updates... Often times people will post a "way to go" on an ANNOUNCEMENT of an update that has not been IMPLEMENTED yet... this is entirely pointless, and yet it dominates every announcement made... As I stated before, this "way to go" attitude can be misleading, as NOT ALL updates actually do fix or improve what they were intended to do, but ALL announcements ARE spammed by "yes-men." At least the "first post" people didn't create a false sense of success.
Finally, I would like to appologize for venting my frustrations of this side-topic in this, perhaps not the most appropriate of places, but this thread is a perfect demonstration of what I am talking about... and it is something that has been bothering me for quite a while...
