When night crons were at the time they re now all european players i guess had problems knowing the new drug price (since we were asleep at the time of change) so that was a big problem with trading those who do trade understand what i mean. Getting the night crons back at around 12-1 am tc time is just what is needed and i think it suits at least 90% of players all over the world.

it doesn't matter when the new day crons run as long as you are aware of exactly what time they run....18:10 used to be jobs, we all were fine with it as long as we knew, and it actually ran
40 mins???!!! for what??? i dont not that many other online games, but i do know that TC is the only one i know who needs a daily 40 min downtime.
Not many other games care about your game data. If something bad happens, we always have the latest game data within 24 hours, 48 hours, and extras on DVDs of each month. 40 minutes is a small price to pay for 100% guaranteed safe data.
ched pony up and buy a snapshot data backup system....it does backups while the DB is still in use! just as reliable and can be done as many times a day as you want...

Pretending to know what you are talking about when it comes to statistics isn't wise.
Let's look at the Eastern Standard time zone for example. 00:00 Torn City Time is 8:00 PM for me. Now I can't use TC from 8pm until close to 9pm. And who is to say it will always be 40 minutes flat? When it was only 25-30 sometimes it took 40.
Now chrons are between 8:01pm and 9:25pm
Let's just say this comes as no benefit to me.
I won't care whole heck of a lot if nothing changes, but whoever mentioned the snapshot backup is right. No downtime. Take takes full consideration and care into game data, as well as gamer satisfaction.
Kinda funny all the people complaining about the downtime for 40 minutes, but then if something happened and there was datalost you would be saying 'You need to make backups daily' blah balh balh. Its only 40 minutes, train just before it goes down, do your crimes just before and you wont waste any E or nerve

It isn't wise to make assumptions. If data was lost i certainly wouldn't complain , I'd pick myself back up and get back in shape just like I did in the last downtime. Don't assume something for the whole.
Also, with the timing of the nightly downtime, some people are still studying in school or busy at work. Some are unable to access Torn City before the downtime.
Although it would be wise to train and crimes before downtime, of course, it's just not that simple all the time.

One of my companies manages and logs 400.000 telephone calls a day, nearly 1 million GPS data signals and over 3 million watchman signals and a manage a free wireless hotspot internet access that boasts 80,000 users and all this with just 8 employees. We host 51 websites and log every single millisecond of data from every single customer. The data is backed up live.....i.e the second it happens it is backed up remotely. Why in gods name does such a small site like TC need 40 mins downtime?
