You 'may' notice some problems after downtime tonight (23rd august). We have changed around all nightly crons. So everything that happens at night (e.g. Casino streak resets, faction days go up, drug prices change, city stats are updated, company reports generated e.t.c.) will happen between 00:01 and around 01:25 GMT. The backup now starts at 00:01 (same with the nightly downtime). Nightly downtime should be over at around 00:40.
Some staff reported errors right after the downtime which means the backup hadn't completed before the site was opened. The downtime has been increased to around 40 minutes as per request.
There hopefuly will not be any issues, please just keep your eyes open, and if there are issues you know they will be resolved quickly.

Not many other games care about your game data. If something bad happens, we always have the latest game data within 24 hours, 48 hours, and extras on DVDs of each month. 40 minutes is a small price to pay for 100% guaranteed safe data.

ched pony up and buy a snapshot data backup system....it does backups while the DB is still in use! just as reliable and can be done as many times a day as you want...
