I know this point has been made, but this a game about crime right? Isn't scamming someone out of money a crime? So long as you are scamming within the framework of the game, and not stealing peoples accounts or passwords, then you are just playing the game. If you pay for protection, then post a notice in the paper or spread the word in the forum. Eventually, all the people who pull this scam will be outed, and only the "honest" protection rackets will get business. In other words: "caveat emptor... buyer beware."
Its a god point...if you buy protection and it doesn't happen it really is your fault...and no amount of complaining is gonna work...instead you should hire a hitman...so good choice for the staff to stay out of it...i can get really confusing
Bullshit. How is this different from buying a gun? You give someone money to lend you a service. If you have a written agreement, it's scamming.
Less paperwork is a non-arguement. If you are too lazy to do your job, don't do it. 1000's are willing to do it for you.

im kinda agreeing with him here i dont care if the punishment should be they get 1$ taken away alltho like a list of people who u cant trust would be the best i guess this really just makes the game a lot harder
so no matter what no one can say anything about going back on an nap or protection? meaning if someone pays someone say 5 million a month not to attack them and i have seen that alot now that person can take the money and still attack if they feel like it? or i could go out talk to a bunch of small factions get them to give me all of their money in exchange for protection and then just laugh at any attempt they have to get me to help them out of a war?
i mean yeah "blah blah blah people aren't nice and honest" but how is that not seen as scamming? i can't make the jump. its paying someone for a service and then not getting it there needs to be some way for them to get their money back atleast if nothign else.
yes the people that complain that the problems aren't solved fast enough dont' really have a case because sometimes it takes a while for things to be solved but this really is just going to irritate alot of players who just want to play and not be constantly attacked or hosped till they give someone some outrageous sum of money to leave them alone and with this you are going to start having wars where the attacker will take the money for the surrender and then just turn around and declare right after the surrender goes through and start it all over again.

these quotes have some important and strong arguments and completely contradicts what luekybear said on the faction thread even if that is replaced by this............looks like scamming is allowed..........there will be kaos:P
well aint that confusing this game is about warring and crime ect... well then by you saying you wont make a rule for it as its the point of the game then scamming should be legal as well (using as a example) i am sorry but some times people just dont think.... if its a game about crime then allow scamming you can inforce some and not others.... thats just unfair.... scamming in conning stealing part of the game... so you know.... either enforce all those kinda rules or none at all...

in my opinion, NAP and protection should not be offered. that should be against the rules, for a faction to protect another faction. it's all just a waste of money. and now that you have made it clear, staff will not take any part in the NAP's and protection aspect. it would be stupid to get portection now, cuz that would make it so easy for a faction to scam another faction.
here it comes...........i dnt blame them anyways, dumb idea really, should of thought of it properly, you just allowed scamming to occur between factions:o
if a faction chooses to offer protection but doesn't follow through, they'll be getting less business, and that's their own fault. this should also help to motivate players to get stronger instead of paying people to protect them.
So basically because NAP's and protection are too hard to look after, your skipping out on them?
thats a bit of a cop out, why not just outlaw faction protection, and standardise the end of wars for 3 months.
I think it is pretty absurd that you guys havent really looked into this as coding something like that into tc would be an amazing addition to the game and would stop a lot of scamming within the game,
I Agree that Protection is bullshit anyway, if there werent power hungry factions just going after the HOF, it would be fine and the n00b facs wouldnt have to worry about buying protection from higher fac's so that their drug habits can be supported

i mean if your a level 20 above scamming mite not be such a big deal to u but when u are a faction with low level members it really limits the ability to do stuff which is another thing im wondering should it not get harder for the hi level members instead u make it hard when u start out makes no since
no he doesnt. Didnt they say scamming may become legal in the very near future? THIS WHOLE GAME IS BASED ON CRIME....if you have an issue then put it out there to others to fight back WITH you NOT FOR you. Admin are there to keep people from multis and such. This is fair by me MAN LAW!

ermm, dnt know what you are trying to say fully but yes scamming does bother me and it is a big deal if it wasnt then i wouldnt be ranting like this about it would i? staff make a rule and they break it themselves, this cant get even more better, or can it? and when i was talking about scamming about others, it was a figure of speech
Well, hopefully those who have provided NAP's will stay honest and keep abiding by them until they expire. Otherwise a lot of shit will hit the fan, with no way to settle it.
