Over the past month the site has been rather fast during off-peak times. But during the times of 16:00-23:00 the site is significantly less fast.
So we are getting hold of a second database server. This database server is more powerful than our current database server, when used together it should remove all lag from Torn City and leave enough space for a few thousand new players.
This will bring our total servers to 5.
Database server for select querys
Database server for update & select querys
Web server for ww1
Web server for ww2
Image server
UPDATE: There will be no downtime.

ok so i guess this means that there will be a constant backup of the database then so that both copies can be queried?

I have never understood all the newbies complaining about lag but Im glad TC is doing something to keep this site extremely fast!
I remember waiting 10 minutes for a page to load when I started to play, thats right 10 minutes! I would literally click on a link and leave the room to do something else, come back, click again and wait another 10 minutes!
But then again thats when points used to cost less than 500 dollars and nobody owned a 65 Million dollar home!!!
