Please note no member of staff will ever send a warning to your mailbox from their account, it comes through the system.

Also note these types of warnings...
This is a warning from TC Staff you have been suspected of using multi accounts i would like you to send your username and password to verify your account, If failure to do so may result in federal jailing for 999 days ThanksTorn City Staff

Are people trying to gain your account information so they may take over your account. This is in NO way coming from any staff member

At all times keep your account information private for your use only, do not give it to anyone. I don't care if the Queen ask for it, do NOT give it out.

We will not ask you for your account information, Administrators can obtain that information for themselves, no other staff member even needs to know it. So please STOP giving out your information.

Really.
Staff have coloured names, and there is a Staff list in the City on top of this.

Why someone whose name is Staff, a non donator and no coloured name would be believable as a member of Staff.

It makes me sad how many people have given up their information.

yup, i got an email like this You have recibed this warning because of the pornography you used in your torn city life and now you must tell us your username and password for torn city so that we can verify it so you dont go to federal jail for 999 days , your account will not be logged into and nothing will be removed , but if you refuse to tell me in the next mail you send me then i shall place you in federal jail for 999 days . I didn't fall for this email and reported the player.

Note that while scamming is mostly allowed, account stealing is not. Abusing the in-game system to confuse players is not allowed, and scamming them within the system is.

Though I still don't know if they ban people who use trade chats to confuse the other player that they've put the money in the trade - for example, renaming yourself to 130000000 and accepting the trade without putting any money, instead of putting 13000000.

Its a shame a lot of the people who play this game never/rarely read the announcements forums so they are never going to see this thread

The phisher multies who send those mails will continue to get new victims because people are too lazy to look at the annoucements forum or read the game rules
