personally i wouldnt be caught dead downloading this..... your giving a makeshift company that assumes 0 liability on ANYTHING TO ANYONE direct access to your harddrive, system folders, tcp stack etc etc etc.. this has nightmare and potential for abuse written all over it, strictly from a security stand point, this is horrifying. good luck to all those that take the plunge... might as well just pack your pc up and ship it to ched..... |

So yes it's free to play as I don't remember charging anyone to login. |
meh really i dont care about this update i think that it had to be done just figured i'd try to get a few cheap laughs.

How will this work for players who live under the same roof and share a PC? Will they be able to run 2 accounts off this or will it affect how the system views each one?

And not to name names, but there's a few backers of this and points removal doing a lot of "slagging" about "slagging" (is that the right word), and when I read it, its like I'm hearing the teacher "talk" in Charlie Brown (the trombone)..XD
on topic: what a fantastic update. It pretty much does nothing I don't do on my own since I check in almost hourly for racing. Does it alert me at any decent time before bogus updates take affect (like removal of anonymous, points for DP status, or which year chess will become available), or do I just have to keep looking daily for my metaphorical middle finger from the big man?
I swear sometimes it'd actually make me feel a little better if the login screen was just a picture of a middle finger saying "B*sh, better have ma moneh if you wanna do well". That sort of honesty would halfway inspire me to donate.
edit: Furthermore, why would I be inspired to donate towards the game when my real money would go to something like this?? Security issues, much?

DP gives +50% energy gain. One could completely ignore the option to use DPs, but they are severely penalized, compared to the donators. The DP prices are currently unstable, but I think they'll stay at about 33-34 mil.
A monthly DP for 33-34 mil, making this a donators' game.

edit: just looked at it, what the hell is in it that its 32~ megs? thats quite a large amount of data for something that does... not much at all.

Not something Iīm dying to use, in any case I couldnīt afford it,but an update is an update. Iīm sure it will come in handy to those that deem it as such.
Oakleyīs post was a good one though, keep that in mind the next time you download *anything*, which Iīm sure isnīt be a problem, as we alll read the license agreement before clicking "yes".
The dp update was a tad bit harsh though.

Well personally this update will allow people to stay logged in without the need for auto refreshers, as long as the updates wont cost another 50 points i dont see that its that much of an issue, points will return over time anon didn't always have listings and people will sell again, nice twist i look forward to future updates,

before anon was selling points... points were not capped at 50k... they were around 100k... so as long as the cap is in place points wont be back on the market any time soon

Lots of damage control going on in this thread. Obviously the admins don't mind silencing people who object and have supported this game for a long time.
They're valid complaints, no need to threaten forum bans and edit peoples posts. I think the app is a decent idea, but charging points for it right after when the points market got jacked is very suspicious. If ched was smart, he'd drop an iphone/android app and charge $1 for it. All the younger players that can't pay for a DP would be able to charge any app purchases to their cell bill.
But why would they do that, its an intelligent business decision that would turn out well.
