Also I agree that a lack of immediate gratification must have had a certain impact on it.
Also, I see a vote as something I may or may not do, I don't really see it as a duty...
Perhaps if it's felt that it is, then anyone who is not a donator and doesn't vote loses their account..

Even if this site is free as it is said, but we make it...without us,without every single player in here this site doesn't exist... So voting is a choice,and me like many others we deserve a reward for voting...so whenever there is a reward we vote and take it,otherwise,i don't vote.
I agree what is the point in voting if u get nothing out of it. I mean i still vote on the weekly voting system but i don't vote on the daily one anymore. I never use casino tokens I don't think hardly any ppl use them. Why don't you credit something else for the daily vote eg. 1 creadit and i dunnow wen u get 100 credits you get a merit or $1,000,000 cash, that way more ppl will vote if u get something good out of it.
CHED...why?...why do you have to keep pulling this crap.. i liked this game when is started and when you add more to it ..you tend to change the good things and put in something no one wants to see...i wont vote for casino tokens i dotn want casino tokens i may not vote till i see something that could benefit me in the mean time i may consider voting for points but im still deciding whether or not i will .i think i will wait till net week when we find out if you change the the tokens for e again
think about it ... are you more likely to play a game that's nº1 based on voting sites or one that's nº10 or even one that nobody has heard of ?
it helps bring in new players .. they are the lifeline that's kept TC going .. if you'll check the player list for ID's under 60k you'll see that there aren't that many of us .. older players tend to quit and if no new ones enter then the game dies

You may want to do some checking again, there are older players that are still playing.
In case you forgot, it was the older players that got this damned game going in the first place, we are the ones who donated before all you noobs started playing. we are the ones who originally provided enough money to build the damn code.
Seems to me that at this time ched is just getting greedy. he's pissed that so many of his long time players are leaving because he screwed them/me out of a ton of work/time and now wants to bring in some fresh blood to keep the donations rolling in. i'm curious as to how much money torn city brings in every month in donations...that number hasnt been announced for a LONG time. granted, this is a private bussiness so ched has every right to keep this information private if he so chooses, but before you start complaining to us that we arent giving enough to you, how about you start giving us some knowledge. lets take a look at some hypotheticals
coders complain that they dont have enough time to fix problems because they have real lives and jobs and cant be working on this stuff non-stop
solution how about cheds starts paying the damn coders for their work? if we assume safetly that between 5 and 10% of the TC population has a donator pack (someone payed for it at sometime) that means that anywhere from 20k-40k of donator packs are bought every month......thats between 100k and 200k EVERY MONTH in cash that Ched is making.....
hmmm, yeah, im sure the servers and bandwidth cost that much.... doubtfull
so why not start paying the coders enough so they can work on this full time? its a beautiful cycle ched, constant improvements= happier people=more votes=more money=more coders=more improvements
see how that works? give it a shot. try learning a little bussiness sense too, it will get you much further than just guilt tripping everyone into voting for this.
I used to vote every time to get the extra 15E.
Im not intrested in extra tokens so i voted maybe once or twice now i cant be bothered because i dont use them.
Maybe changing it back to getting extra energy would increase the voting.
Didnt really see any logic in changing it from extra E to extra tokens.
BootyGrabber...you are absolutely right...I am one of the older players..if not the oldest...and all the statt in here are working hrd,we thank them for that,but he wants us to vote for him..only!!!...which i, and many others as i see won't...so he must start thinking of others instead of HIM..only...just see what others want too...won't do any harm
that is true though, when i was involved in another game about 2 years ago, i was a coder/designer and i got given £5 a month for helping on about a few hours basis. This is THE FIRST GAME i have ever seen where all the proceeds go to one man... obviously hes put money into the game. But not without making it all back plus more..... Start a suggestion thread to pay the coders. maybe some full-time, maybe some part-time. but soomething needs to be done i was here at the beggining and i applyed for all jobs going and im glad in a way that i havnt been accepted.
yeh we vote and we only get 2 points, it should be 4 points. Oh and Ched, replacing the toprpg voting by 15 tokens, it's not a good idea cuz less people are voting and no body cares about some few casino tokens. Energy is much better
I hope its obvious now why ppl don't vote as much as they use to. It should have been obvious as soon as the changes were proposed (or does he just make the changes himself without asking the staff?). I really don't see how or why a council of people would have voted YES for these changes as you can see they really don't give you anything extra. Lets face it, most of us vote to get the extra points, not because we truly want TC to be #1
I havent voted because im just a bit browned off relly i man i donated over 50euro, and im a studen to this game so i could go to africa fast and make money and then this this "crash" happens and i lose 40-50 million which took a very long time to get and that was logging 3 4 times a day and voting.

then when tc finnaly comes back up africa isnt paying up what it used to be making me lose alot of intrest in the game.
im not happy and i wont donating a penny more and im not voting im just gonna wait and see if things improve
From this post, I see that I am “obligated” and I “should” feel a certain way and I “should” do this. Non-donators, I think, are not duty-bound to vote- I think that a majority of players cannot afford to buy packs with RL money and aim to buy them with game money instead…and I see that as donating -still- if those people are planning to buy from donator pack sellers. I also see that on those voting websites, TornCity is still leading by -far-, and although I agree that this game’s concept stands fairly alright by me, I don’t vote anymore simply because I don’t think this game deserves it as much as is.
but not cos i feel its my duty. i only do it cos it takes a couple of clicks. never really thought about what i was voting for..
i didnt realise until i read this thread that coders dont get paid!
what a cheek expecting coders to spend hours on bug reports and new features for nothing! i would like to hear some coders posting in this thread about their feelings on it. although im sure theyll only be nice about it infront of ched:D
