Voting for Torn City to me means a great deal. It means I am helping TC get the exposure it needs to allow new players to come into the game and allow the game to grow.

I do not expect any reward for my troubles, for taking the two seconds it takes to vote. I am rewarded simply by knowing that a new player might join the game. blah blah blah blah blah blah.......

OMG.....move over Obama and Gore, we got another Presidential cadidate here.

Didnt even read a third of ur post Vater coz I gotta be up in 8 hours for work.

Ched - you wonder why votes are down? Coz it takes more than a few dogs and car races to keep people entertained......maybe if I hadnt had a year of lags and crashes, I'd have continued to vote. Guess I'll wait and see what happens now. Looking forward to seeing the 1st April release that we were promised though.

I have noticed that a lot of users feel that two clicks to vote for Torn City is too much.

We provide Torn City for free. Certainly for the non-donators, you should feel it is your duty to vote. Give something back to Torn City, it is all that we ask. There is no reason why every single player here today shouldn't have voted.

I hope to see a large improvement on the weekly votes.

Thank you.

While I'm at it, what makes you think we are too lazy to 'click twice to vote'? That's a tad arrogant. People obviously have a reason not to vote (such as mine above). Your game is fun but I think people should remember why this game is here - because we pay to upkeep it. I wonder how long it would be here if the 'owner' had to cough up his own money for hosting. Sure, non donators you should expect to vote for the game, but to have a go at those of us that keep this game running is unnecessary. That's my opinion, and you're entitled to it.

Yes as we all know....we have only so many clicks left.....lets not be expected to expend them on Torn City.....good lord, I need my clicks for my stock portfolio. Lets just make it easier than it already is...lets have TC as our required Home Page on every pc in our home. LOL LOL

At least there are a few players who are willing to offer constructive ideas and concepts. To those thanks. People enjoy proving my point anyone can be critical when it isn't them thats under the gun. It's your opinion, you vocalized it but being negative never gained anything productive.

It may take more than pets or racing to hold your interest but a lot of other players enjoy them. Goes back to what I said when not everything is for everyone. Your still playing so there must be something you enjoy focus on that

I agree isO....but I'm saying it's arrogant of Ched to assume we are all too lazy to vote and that we 'owe' him something for this game. He gives me my castle back from the crash, and all my cynicism disappears...infact, it would never have been there. I lose it all and scammers end up with PI's each....that's why I'm negative. Anyways, my opinion, thats what the forum is for. Thanks for your reply.

p.s.nice to have a staff member who replies nicely to rank and file members without being on the defensive all the time.

I am kinda neutral on this one... I feel that we dont owe him anything. He is the one that set down and made the game. But at the same time. We play this game. Why not just vote for it. Like everone says... It's just two clicks... how hard can that be. I admit... we lost a lot of stuff when it crashed... but it just gives you something to work for ? And like isO said... you must like something about the game... why not just focus on that ?

It's so funny to me that a post from a game runner touches on greed and is followed up by a bunch of people that will only buy into his greed if he feeds theirs.

Here's a quote from www.tcbasic.com/hunt.htm that concerns hunting and all these new unwanted updates...

"Just another way Ched and the admins have decided to keep the balance of power in the hands of the uber high lvls.
Thanks Admins!!!"

I won't bother to vote for casino tokens because I have no incentive to. I will vote for the 2 meagre points if I bother to get around to it. But TC is not the same as it used to be, but you guys don't care... Your doing all this for free and your doing us a favour, because we cannot live without TC?

"People complain about not getting points untill the end of the week, while one of the most valuable assest of this game which is points was being basically whored by mass voting multis who did nothing but vote, sell points, find a middleman or use a faction, send the cash to the main account and wait a week and do it all again..."

so thats how they do it. back on topic, i do vote everywhere as i do not mind helping the site whenever possible. unless it is just a glitch on my account, i wonder why the tokens do not accumulate. you get 75 per day + 15 from voting. it tops out at 90 tokens.

i agree with Yuri_Orlov because nobody really plays in the casinos and 15 energy would be better for everyone. ANd if u do change the 15 tokens back to 15 energy and maybe 15 energy it could be like 20

I agree with the thoughts that messages like this, along with ones like 'we're unhackable' make chedburn look arrogant. At the minute, with all the downtime still occuring my concience won't allow me to recommended this game to someone else.. I hope things turn around...

A duty? Are you out of your mind? A duty is something I have towards family and friends and society. I sure as hell don't have a duty to a game that I have already donated real cash to.

Hmmm. Doesn't one of those sites say something about reporting if you have been tricked or coerced into voting?

The casino tickets are useless. Getting points a week later is usless. Still, I was voting anyway. Not any more. Thank you.

I'll vote. You have to see though...the reason it has gone down is do to the lack of "immediate gratification". Not to say this is an excuse, but a reason. Also taking away the 15 E and replacing it with 15 tokens has to have hurt the voting. Again, not complaining, but just making an observation to things......

This is exactly why *I* (and others i'm sure) don't vote as often as we use to.

This game is not full of little twelve year old kids and for that I am really happy I am part of you (the community of TC).

On another note, we must not take every word Ched says and analyze, he is a person also, he chooses words to compose sentences, and sometimes he chooses a bad word to express something and everyone does that. Also, often time’s people simply might not be able to express what they want properly and that’s why it matters that we understand.

I understand what you're saying, and for the most part I agree, but... you're right this game isn't populated with only 12 year olds, the users are, (for the most part) intelligent gamers.

Face it, the game is a business, whether they make money providing it or not, the day they took their first donation they became a business. They provide a service, and if we like the service, (or more appropriately we want the "enhanced" version of the service) we pay.

As a business owner, I understand that when I communicate to my customers, I had better consistently, communicate in a way they understand. Or I stand to anger the customers, and potentially have them go somewhere else.

This said, Ched, like many of the posters here, need to think a moment before they type, and, (bringing back memories of high school) read over your paper before you hand it in.

I'm not suggesting we get perfect english, and award winning prose, but no matter how you slice it, when you provide services to a large group of people, you need to communicate effectively to them.

I'm guessing, like you, Ched simply didn't think out the words, "It's your duty" and had he taken 2 minutes, and thought about it, he would have utilized the backspace key, and been more diplomatic. Perhaps we're wrong and he REALLY means that it's our duty. Maybe he just likes stirring up the pot and getting people to post to the forums.

My bet is that he looked at the ranking of TC on the game sites, sat down, typed up a quick, it's your duty post and posted it. Thus, all of us with nothing better to do rant and rave over it, while he's off doing something else, (not reading any of this).

I agree, keeping the site popular is important. New players are what keep the game fresh. Old players are what keep the game going. Either way, it would have been more effective to explain it this way, than to put the players on the defensive, by telling us it's our "DUTY".

Will I vote in the future? More than likely. Will I vote every time the link comes up? NOPE. Do I care about energy, casino tokens, or cash for voting? NOPE. (Although as stated earlier, everyone has their price).

If I were running things, here's what I'd request:

-------------------------------------

If you're enjoying playing the game, and want to help us keep it strong, please take a moment and vote by using the links at the top of your home screen. It's simple, quick, and we'd appreciate it.

Thanks

---------------------------------------------

moving on....
