No, I'd prefer you to just keep it the old way and improve on other areas of the game (like warring, racing, chess etc)

Well warring is not that bad at the time being, hof still sluts, lower factions still live, respect gains suck for most, but then again those interested in warring know already how to gain it...
Chess... Guess these towns being used for just 1 month will have alot more afluence then a 1 year time of chess... Truth is chess is a time consuming game that is not ment for every mind, i dont see it with a bright future in a text based game... But then again there seems to be plenty of ppl with no life around...
That leaves racing, the thing that does need work, but i supose that they can work on 2 things at the same time...
They seem to take ages working with only one 'major' thing, so adding another will just make it even more delayed.
The warring system is still horribly wrong, there aren't any real wars atm. Just ones for fun and others just slutting for respect which means nothing atm, because its mainly getting gained from slutting.
Also, Ched is now going to prioritize all the staff and coders onto the new Halloween/Christmas town, with all the items and everything. So all the other (much more needed) changes and updates will be locked away, till be can be arsed to dig them out again and actually make a good change to torn that will actually have a positive effect on the gameplay.

but perhaps u can find a way to let ppl use the old collectibles of haloween if it means surrendering the old candies its ok cause most must have used it old collectibles and rare items may sell somehow?

Haha, if you read the suggestions for the warring system (which has turned to be what it is now) its nothing like what it actually is! You've got it wrong ched, maybe you should admit it? You never have before, you always think you're right and if something has go on you just blag and blag, then say it just needs some tweaking which you never get round to in most cases.
