I hate the new update and I no loner vote because of it. I get nothing by having a CHANCE in a silly raffle of thousands of people. I think this is a 'f**k you' to all of the players.
I love this game, but I wont take 20 minutes of my time to vote and watch as someone gets all the points. Thousands vote for torn and thousands of players should be rewarded for their efforts.

20 mins. its never took me longer than 3 mins.. but i guess if you have 10 to 20 accts to go thru it would be a hasslexD

It is very time consuming. 'Ched' acts like he cares about the players but he has the most to gain from us voting.
Think about the fact that 'Ched' makes over a million on just the players we have now, this thing is to get more players (thus more money), torn is doing just fine, the patches are getting fixed fine, they don't just make one game, and giving the players that vote less perks.
They just want our money and new players money.

The only bonus to this is the fact that I am looking at the sites and finding better games to play while this one goes down the drain in 'updates'

The more users we have, the more funds i have. This means we can hire even more employees to bring you more updates, that don't work quicker.

Many thanks!

waste o time here. all he is doing is making a ton o cash for getting you people to vote. its almost like a pyramid scheme!!

It is not entirely 60 seconds, i took 3-4mins in order to finish voting on every site. When there is apex to vote for to get one point a week i will still continue to vote but now i have losed interest in voting, won't even vote every day now.

Well I guess we all have to remember that it is legal to scam. Even Chedburn does it and will get away with it. I just feel bad for the people who actually think he is helping torn. Chedburn isn't stupid. He will have all of the voting merits up so high that it will take months to obtain if your lucky ( not all of the votes are getting counted). People think this will be the easiest merits that they will get, but I think they will soon learn the truth.

I don't mind voting. In fact, I kind of like it since it's another activity to do. I don't buy many donator packs with real money so I feel like I owe something back to Ched and his staff.

I have a question for the admins: how can you determine if we actually voted on some of those sites. If a TC player is blocking third- party cookies the only way you could confirm the votes is by getting a report from the voting site. Even then, getting IPs from the voting sites still leaves you with the issue of IPs (like open wifi townships r coffee shops) from which multiple players access the site. Google Analytics wouldn't capture enough data to guarantee that when you credit someone with having voted that they actually voted. So I'm curious: how do you verify the veracity of a vote? Feel free to contact me by mail if the forum is too open to discuss this topic.

I timed myself. It took 2 min to vote for all the daily stuff. The ones that come up weekly r longer would add more time. The "60 second" estimate is a bit off.

Plus its boring as hell with no immediate r guaranteed reward. A token amount of points per so many votes would help. Anything would be better. Yeah sure we get merits worth a bazillion dollars TC as you say. But we all know the merit structure is set up so things take months and years to complete.

You say we should spend 60 seconds a day to vote to help the game? You could easily code in small rewards to better encourage people to vote and help yourself. The 1 pt per week we got under the old system I almost always voted for because i wanted the point. The 15 casino tokens a day? Im 1400 days old and maybe voted for that one twice. Because I didnt want r care for the casino tokens.

People playing free online games have "a what can you do for me now" mentality. Sure long term goals give something to strive for. But short term rewards are what drives the ADD types.

Oh look a squirrel.

Hmm, so i vote roughly 6x per day as stated, + all the weekly votes, so about 66-80 r so votes per week, for what... a lottery which one person receives? (Before it was two clicks and a type for a point, now its 66+ votes for a mere chance? Thanks alot, obviously think about your users, fail update.

You may state that it would bring us around more updates if there was more users, so thats an incentive, but it also means there will be more idiots playing, and we still dont get too rewarded for voting 6600% more than we did for a garunteed reward of 1 point?

The main reward is 5 merits for voting, worth $125,000,000 for each user. You sound like i've beaten up your mother.

you cant sell your merits so they have no money value,

im suggesting you get like 3 points if you vote on all websites at least once a week so its fair no one is a loser not somebody win a jack pot of like 250mill

you will piss people off ched

Voting is a waste of time when there's a little chance of winning. Hitting that 10k points is like winning mega millions in real life.. Buying mega millions helps the school system every year but Voting will increase Donation revenue which doesn't help anybody...(at least all the players)

I take the time to read all the post here, now i thing why the 90 percent just want to win something, i think why dont make it for the good of torn, for the god of the game, whats the problem about votting, 1, 2, 3, r 10 minutes it doesnt matter, the thing here is to help torn to grow if you think that individualist we are not going to grow in any sense, and we are showing the world that the personal interest are more important that the colective ones, we are part of torn, we make torn what it is, why? Because we are votting, a lot of us are donators, why dont think about what torn wins with these, no developers, torn this game this house of everyone of us if we are playing here is because we like it since first day here.

I lose mi weekly points but if torn is going to win i will do my best for it, and that is what makes me vote, the love to this city, the love to this game, its just a few minutes just do it because you like this game, you love this city, no for personal interest.

Jurenthe.

I have a problem.. I Never remember the last one i voted too. I suggestion that there should be a GREEN check mark after the ones you have voted to, and a RED cancel mark next to the ones i havent voted too...

Just my thought. i get confused..

I have played this game for quite some time, and never missed an opportunity for the one point a week...

How long do i have to set aside 6 mins to vote everyday, before i get my first merit? The reward of voting has to outweigh the cost of our time. Therefore, if the reward is truly worth the cost of our time, then it must appear to us as such.

It appears to me the majority of the posts here don't find the reward worth the cost. Therefore, there are two conclusions we could hypothesize.
A) Users are misjudging the grandeur of the reward: due to their own inexperience, r perhaps the reward has not been conveyed for it's true worth.
B) Users are aware of the reward's worth, and do not find it to be: Worth their time, r (And i think this to be most likely) they find the reward to be to far out of reach. i.e. it is not a cost (voting) that will tangibly and immediately render them satisfaction(reward of merits).

my 2 cents....more than 10 sites daily...1 point one vote weekly n 15 casino tokens daily...now some 'random' winner for 10,000 pts...helps the torn economy n inflation much...

Dear Mr. Chedburn ...
Voting is VERY time- consuming.. but what the hell?
If you want to win 10.000 points you better work for it!
I think its a great system, im voting as much as i can, not only because of the points prize but its mostly because of all the other new players who wants a shot in this game!

Mr. Chedburn, thank you for letting us play this awesome game!

Greetings from Norway!

Do we still have the once a week vote that gives us one point? I remember when we used to have three points a week possible, before two of the sites dropped off from the voting. This doesn't take long, and even if I don't get the 10,000 points ever, I still enjoy the opportunity to gain more merits, so I will vote wherever I get a chance.

Yes you still get that 1 point a week Romano

No Two you do not get that 1 point a week anymore

mbcd confirmed it and made a thread in General Discussion. Which is why I assumed you'd get the point.

part of the reason I play torn is I don't have a standard internet hookup. I wonder how many other players are out there with the same situation? It takes far to long as far as I'm concerned. Otherwise keep up the good work.
