Well, I have a decent amount of donator left, but I think I will take the wait and see approach. IF the lag really disappears, and IF we don't get those damn mysql issues all the time, I will start donating again. If not, I don't see the reason to throw my money away...

how many regular donators are the to tc??
there must be a lot and many of them buy 5 or 6 a month to sell to peeps with no paypal etc and 7000 is only 1400 donations which i would guess is probably only about 2 weeks worth of donations...were not all kids here ched 7k may sound like a lot but in reallity its a small amount to keep us happy which in turn means the mooolah keeps rolling in

Why wasnt this update announced 24 hours before like you promised Ched?
2) In future We will ALWAYS give you at least 24 hours notice before a downtime to the hour (not including emergency downtimes)

beside thats like 3 thousand pound to me as if most people in england with average jobs only earn that in 2-3 months plus lucas arts and blizzards and all of then they never lag and they probly still only spend about as much as you and there a damn multi billionare company lol

1400... my estimates put total income from donations at around $50k-100k per month - it could be more if people over-buy... but based on my research, approx 50% of active players of this type of game, will donate regularly - TC has approx 20k active players - so on average thats $50k per month - based on some quick number crunching I think the number of players with donator packs is actually higher than 50% - it could be near 100% - impossible to tell since the crash - now everyone has a donator pack

RAID - 1 will NOT increase performance. It will decrease performance but give added security.
RAID - 1 just copy's the contents of the Master Harddrive to any Slave harddrives in the same array.

Your very own refernce states " Twice the Read transaction rate of single disks, same Write transaction rate as single disks"
RAID-1 gives you higher read rates, the same write rate.

RAID 5 has a significant calculation overhead, and we actually tried it. Its significantly slower than RAID1 for our situation.
