It is possible to give hunting skills back (although very complicated) but this could cause more problems than its worth. And since we will be implementing hunting changes with the upcoming 'patch', we didn't think this was worth it.
I'm not looking forward to the hunting changes. I'm guessing hunting is going the way of the bank, which means the time and effort it takes to go hunting, (and keeps you out of the real game) isn't going to be a profitable.
For people who don't hunt, that's not an issue, for those of us who do spend a LOT of time traveling, hunting, recovering energy, and then hunting again, it's gonna suck.
I sure wish I could get my 75+ hunting skill back for the time between now and the patch.

He is doing his damndest to get what people lost back, and trying to think of ways to compensate.
Anyone ever play WoW? On a server (sure more then once (before expansion)) it went down when people were fighting the last dragon. Not one person received compensation for the server crash. Around an hours worth of data.
That being said, for those of you that don't play. It costs money to play, whether or not you login.
It costs a lot more. An hour of playing in an instance, can set you back very far. And, some of them can take 6+ hours, so even those 5 hours in, have to restart.

Let's look at the facts:
People who didn't hunt did gain more strenght, speed, defence and dexterity. They kept it, thank god.
Hunters, who didn't get any of that and sacrificed those stat gains for more hunting experience and money, are now not getting anything back. Money I can understand. Experience on the other hand, I can not.:s

no but i lost respect for the admins of torn city...what i said wasn't to upset u...btw...but..i did lose alot myself..i was on my way to travel..and now im back down to level five.......at least u was able to..its gonna take me another three months to earn everything i had back...i not only lost my house..and didn't have it returned...but i also lost my working stats and everything JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE!

Don't say that, I have been on a site where I did crash the latest back up was done a month back just like this site. The site has been around a little longer than tc and the forum that started the game has been around even longer. The money that is collected from the members are put back into the site, he can't just fix it, and I do see that he is trying give the man a break.
I think all compensation should be based on 3 things which indicate activity. (Level is NOT one of them) :
-First and foremost, HUNT SKILL. Someone with an 89.01 hunt skill can make more money in a month than any level 50 no matter how much they play!!!
-Nerve bar, this is the primary source or income outside of south africa. It gives an idea how much that person is making doing crimes (success rate)
-Rank. This is an overall 'ranking' of how diversly the person plays. If they just train and do GTAs, their rank will be oh ...well like mine quite frankly. But someone who breeds/trains dogs, plays the stockmarket, the casino, searches the city and buys and sells items probably has a much better rank.
I know far too many level 20s + that really don't earn that much. I know level 15s that have an 89.01 hunt skill and out-earn and level 40+ in any given month.
So, Donorpacks are given back? How does that work? People buy donorpacks to sell in the auction house. So I recon people got back the donorpacks they sold, but for us who bought them, No DP. Ah, well, only 55 DP days lost or so.
Well, just what to expect... down 30 from around 80 hunting skills and money gone, BOHICA!!

U obviously dont play on magtheridon, that server goes down like 5 times a week (sometimes for hours) after BC came out. That said, i dont think wow is comparable to this game at all, since they obviously takes backup several times a day and if the server goes down there is no data loss.
