Interesting... Theres more Good Engineers for PC's and all that sort things in here then i tough I tough there was only 10 to 15 but theres more then it... But this problem is advanced instead of the normal problems everyone encounters...

Before the server change there was lag.
Yet you could always log into the system. Not only that but your page would always load, sometimes a bit slow, but it would always load.
The one major thing i can see has changed is the new day starts at a different time for me.
It used to be at 2 am eastern time for me.
Now it starts sometime mid day.
Now I assume that the majority of people playing this game are from the US.
If this is true, could it be something as simple as changing torncity time to a central US time.
This way dailly backups could be done at a time when most people that play the game might be sleeping. You could start the new day also when people are sleeping.
Daily backups being done during the day may cause one major problem, a flood of people waiting to get on as soon as the daily backup is done. I know for one i am one of those people and that is when i have the hardest time getting on..
Me thinking this way is based, like i said that the majority of people playing the game are from the US.
Is it easy to change the Torncity time.
another Idea is possibly changing the Job Stats to be credited at night as well when majority of people are sleeping.
just wondering if t could really be that simple..

New day doesn't really make any difference to lag as all they have done is change the system clock to match the timezone where most of the players are.

The only thing i can say to that is.. it doesnt add up to the total amount of players in the game currently. which is well over 200k.

i'm gladd i'm not a paying player yet cause i like to play and not have to find out every 5min that the server's lost.
Maybe it suffers from altzheimer and forgets there are players that want to play
Login is a problem for me but trying to load my entire faction page takes hours. Or the faction forum. Let's just say anything about faction is lagging for me but everything else is ok except for refreashing.
well, this is just me poppin out a dumb idea but say if I lend/give a weapon from faction armoury say like 10 weps....it kills the server....might wanna look at it

@7pm EST it is 4pm on the west coast which means 300 million people are home or soon to be there my English friend. What the post was referring to was @ that time along with all the Good Ole' US of A and those of you across the pond as well as all the other people on Gods' Green Earth is there is a sh*t load of people online waiting to pounce each other on Torn City. moving new day to say 4am EST would take a load off the sever. So remember that we don't think the world revolves around us just that yours doesn't revolve around za Germans because of AMERICA. no offense to the German people of the game.

I was just wondering if it could be the ammount of players that are connected to your servers at that specific time. I managed a pretty crappy website/server for a friend for a while and the same thing happend when to many people were on his site. Either the sql server couldnt take it and restarted or it lagged so bad u might as well forget what you were doing and come back later. But since you upgraded to MySql 5.x and upgraded your servers you shouldnt have very many if any problems with database stress. So i guess im not very helpful but if yall do need help on this ill work for free...
