What about an enemy can't declare if their average stat is more than 2.5x the other factions average. This would prevent impossible battles where 1 faction can't beat a single person in the other faction.
Just 1 thing annoys me, all the noob, factions. and now it's harder to destroy them, bleh. I absolutely hate seeing a faction with 1-5 members in it all levels 1-5. I think we have an overload of factions currently.
I might just have to buy a whole lot and delete them manually.
Personally, I'd like to see a minimum level or age required to create or lead a faction.
Otherwise I welcome updates and changes you have proposed.
With this change on the table, is there going to be any system in mind to deal with a group of factions collaborating to war at-length and just reap the benefits of mutually managed hostilities without ever pushing one another to the 'faction a pushes faction b to the lose point'?
Chaining will be limited to the faction you're attacking. For example you could have several chains going on at once, with several different factions. There is no way to keep a chain constantly going, they will break at the end.
If we just could have a chain with those 5 factions that we can have in our warbase I'd agree..

i like all of it, but this worries me.
back when i was in an aggressive faction, it seemed most of the time a faction would have all their low levels hosped 24/7, and their high levels were impossible to touch.
this seems like itd be hard to keep a chain going very long?
Yeah, I left a good War Faction, due to Chain being broke every single time by Server Lag.... Numerous hours logged in to Chain, only to have Lag break it.... And with less targets, it will be nearly impossible to get a good chain going....

You can only declare on 5 factions, but theres no limit on how many factions declare on you?
That is a very good point. If it means reaping benefits of steadfast and whatnot and able to take breaks bring it on.
I sell base happy houses. Mail me and I'll set up a deal. Also I sell various drugs so check my bazaar every couple of hours. If you see me in jail for a failed hacking please bust me I'll pay you 80,000 asap.
If you are looking for ideas on new ways to spend respect I would read this thread it has some really good ideas which would really help this new update. http://www.torn.com/#/forums.php?forumID=4&ID=10294048&start=0&factionID=0&companyID=0
If you don't like me i think you should know I don't care.
I would like to mention some people aren't in factions to war, but just to be together, help each other and just have fun together.
Sure we don't like the limitation of not being able to do some of the OCs, but we like it even less to being "forced" to go to war.
I won't agree with any change leading to being forced to go to war just because some people are power/respect hungry and want to just attack everything that move(and sometime, everything that doesn't) just for they own fun and profit without thinking about the fact their victims want to have fun too.
The possibility that factions can die, even if it's not rewarding for the attacking faction WILL lead to abuses. There is no if. There is no maybe. It's certain. Therefore, it's dangerous for the enjoyment of a lot of players. Some will just destroy factions because they think they aren't fit to exists(Not enough members, too low levels members and the like).
My opinion and suggestion on the matter is: Leave the peaceful faction be, open more possibilites to them, but don't force them to do anything if they don't want to. I think every faction should be able to dabble in wars if they want to without any long time commitment, and then return to peaceful status once a war is done if they don't like it.
Leaving every player and faction choosing the way they want to play is far better than forcing them into something they don't want.
Some will want to war all the time. Some will want to do it occasionaly. Some won't do it at all. If they all can co-exist, then, you will have achieved greatness.
Otherwise, it will be painful... In many ways... I think you know better than anyone what people can do if they want to win at all cost... And in the end, the ones who suffer are rarely the ones who deserve it.
I do agree with new ways to spend respect and OC's
Some of those suggstions are really bad and make war seem like a tea party gone wrong, slinging cake at each other for the sake of it, with no real loss to either side.
I agree wholly! I was not here when tc started, there are those who talk about getting people back into warring, but this seems to be the only way to get every one and me into war... I look forward to great results in the oncoming wars.
"Wars on factions who are not willing to fight back will be over very quickly. The losing faction will lose I think: 1 / 16th of their respect (because of the new warring system), and a NAP will be created between the factions once it's over."
Fcberke posted this in the other thread you started (in GD): What happens if say a 100 respect faction declares on JFK. They need only 25 respect to "claim a victory". They will get 25 respect after hosping only 10 members of JFK (or less) and they can claim a win against us even before we realized there's a war on .. aka 5 mins.
Is there a way to prevent such abuse, say wars have to last at least 24 or 48 hours?
Again, why not put this in the voting booth. Another stat that could be worth having but right now is N/A for no reason when we are running polls in a forum.
Good idea, but why not top it with putting the voting merit into play as you do this.
