No, I dont think you should give merits back. People like me who have played the game along time, worked hard to get our HP up ect. Changing some things in the game to help new players is great but I dont think you should make changes that hurt some of the older ones in the process. |
It doesnt actually hurt old players, seeing as new players dont get any advantage whatsoever. If anything you got the luxury of having high life for so long and being able to respend the merits
All I see from people is "ZOMG poor me is going to lose life so its a bad idea"
People really need to step back and see the bigger picture and stop thinking about themselves.
Im pissed about the initial change but if it is better for the game then I will happily be screwed over

OK In that case i want back all of the merits i just used on my life as well. Had i not had the life i had before the honors merits I would not have used any of these on life. So If u want to be "fair" give back all merits that i have just used so i can join a medical job and use points on my life so i can use my merits on other things. This is another horrible idea Ched.
Perhaps u should reset your edited battle stats and start actively playing the game like many of us do. Then I think you would see how these so called "updates" are taking away all of the hard work many of us have done in the last 5 years or so. Changing the rules of the game in the favor of players that havent given hundreds of dollars, and countless hours playing this game. This is a direct slap in the face to all of us that have played an honest game to the rules that were set by you in the beginning.
Many other RPG games have changed the rules, but most of them in fairness did a complete reset to the game after doing so. To me this seems like you are inviting all of us to cheat to regain what we once had worked hella hard for. If you can go back and tell how many merits we have spent on life etc, then u can go back and give back all of the money that all of us have lost to people like Westend and others.
Ched you use the word "fair" loosely. It is more than obvious that you have not given half of the time to playing the game as most of us have. You have a blatent disrespect to all of us that have given our all and lined your pockets with much cash as well.
P.S. While you are into going back in the game, why dont u take a look at how much money some of us have donated to this game. Then ask yourself where would you be today without these donations from people like myself.

although i don't know what good that would do....
give us merits donator packs, whatever we can use for our gain.

But I like having my current life because i don't do drugs. No drugs, poor stats, high life. ADVANTAGE. Now then, if i was a druggy and I didn't have that advantage, ya know risked my life a bit by overdosing.... I wouldn't be too fussed.
Either way this is leading to an unbalanced system. Especially because i'm not giving up my company benefits and being faithful to the company just so i can go back to earning hospital points...

Also in all "fairness" since you have made major changes in the system, I think you should return ALL merits ever received including the latest honor merits. This is the only true fair way to do this, since all of us have spent merits on things that were to our advantage with the original rules that u had in place.
This way we could apply our merits to things that apply to the new rules that will effect all of us that have been playing the game for years. You have all but forgotten us Ched. Another sad day in TC.

I should also add that the +5% hp bonus will become just about completely useless if you do this. Unless you dramatically rise the amount of HP you get each level. 65K or 104K HP? Does it really make much difference? I mean 55 merit difference? We don't need the HP removed, just a new way to gain HP, so everyone can catch up.
It's not even an issue with the old system being removed, it's an issue with the new system being a waste of merits, without having a way to increase your base HP.

I don't think they have a cure for that ^^, anyway as long as I get the other 70 merits back and I can use them all on Life or other equally tempting bonuses that will help me out in the game... Oh wait.

again... what's lost is lost. but we can all benefit if we were given 100 merits. if we have to lose everything, then we should at least be given somthing to make up for AND THEN SOME.
why? we will be at a disadvantage for the time being, but we could easily build them back up if we were given the merits.
if we start a vote, a SIMPLE two topic vote, we can show ched exactly what the masses would prefer.
so what do we want?
150 merits? or a messed up game?

Agreed.
Resetting HP because a lot of people weren't smart enough to spent merits on HP ?!
Sure, why not, BUT remove cap from bank interest rate. A lot of people become rich before it was capped. It's unfair !!
And remove cap on stat gains !!!!! Few players made billions of stats before cap was introduced. It's unfair !!
Last 3 years I was working hard to have big Health Bar. Now some noobs will go to merits page and will upgrade their health to 10/10 in 10 seconds ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I say give them back. Also, are you going to do anything about the merits given for reaching a new level? I was level 42 when you started giving merits for levels, this means I will never get 42 merits that someone just starting out will get. While it may seem insignificant, it will make a difference in the long run.

Seriously. I am in the same boat like many. Was saving merits up to lvl 50 to spend on HP. Never happened. Who cares, I will live.
Why can't we concentrate on other things that need/ could be amended. Such as Factions and maybe make Crimes somehow useful?????

I presume you've got a record of what levels folk were at when they use merits on life....you won't be able to just take life down to the set amount per level and recalculate as folks have also spent medical points to raise it and have lost life because of xanax overdose.
Those that spent on stats did gain an advantage, especially since every stat train after they were improved was increased because of it...gains being exponential an all.
Any money gained from merits will have helped folks at the time and surely contributed to their present fortunes.
Increase crime success rate .... sucked, we lost out. It didn't work. Too bad. Yes, I spent a load on this.
Btw, I spent hardly any on life and am still very much against the return of those merits. Folk did get advantages, whether short or long term...it was their choice.
The life thing that's seems to be an issue for some. Tough, some folks got lucky and anyway it adds a bit more variety.
Whatever you do, don't give free merits away.
Oh, while I here. Please can you bump the marriage honours for folk that have got the prerequisites in a previous marriage....we can't trigger them
